evt_scrollwin_thumbtrack/GetPosition?
I am attempting to create a scrollable panel. This works fine for using the scroll arrows, as I am capturing the event and then incrementing the scroll pos by the desired amount. However, it is not working on thumbtracking. I capture the event successfully, but I am unable to capture the position of the thumb tracker. I have looked at the poor man''s doc and have been unable to figure

Windows build?
I performed a get on the CVS WxRuby2; I have installed wxWidgets 2.6.3 and SWIG 1.3.29. Additionally I am running Visual Studio on Windows XP. When I run rake to compile I receive the following error. App.cpp c:\wxWidgets-2.6.3/include\wx/platform.h(190) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: ''wx/setup.h'': No such file or directory rake aborted! Command failed with

Volunteer requested: Implement SplitterWindow
About a year ago (ouch!), Robert Carlin submitted a ported version of the wxPython demo/sample. I hoped to include it in wxruby2, but it relies on SplitterWindow, which isn''t in wxruby2 yet. I tried to implement SplitterWindow myself, but got such strange results that I''m thinking I did something wrong. Even though the generated C++ code specified a variable number of

grid control example doesn''t work on osx.4
Hi, I am trying to use wxruby2-preview (0.0.38) on my intel macbook running os10.4.8. I am having a beast of a time running the examples in the tutorials. The super basic frame example worked but the simple grid tutorial bombs with the following message: ------ [WhiteGhost:~/tmp/wxStff] hjw$ ruby ./grid.rb /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/wxruby2-preview-0.0.38-i686-

RadRails and path issues
I have been using RadRails as my editor for Ruby development. Overall I''m pretty happy with it. I''m experiencing a couple of path problems though when using it. Inside of my project within RadRails I will have a directory structure that looks similar to this. +MyProject ++src +++src_sub_directories ++props ++output ..misc files RadRails then treats all files within the src

Newbie can''t get sample/etc/wizard.rb to work
Hello, I''ve downloaded wxruby onto windows (ruby 1.8.6 (2007-03-13 patchlevel 0) [i386-mswin32]). All samples are working fine, except for wizard.rb, which gets: C:/Program Files/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/wxruby-1.9.1-i386-mswin32/lib/wx/keyword_ctors.rb:201:in `initialize'': Error initializing #<Wx::Wizard:0x2f3fed8> (ArgumentError) Sent parameters:

On my windows build, I just noticed that the background of my TextCtrl''s is grey by default, and when I try to set the default style I get the error: TestTextCtrl.rb:15:in `set_default_style'': undefined method `'' for #<Wxruby2::TextCtrl:0x360a0c4> (NoMethodError) from TestTextCtrl.rb:15:in `initialize'' from TestTextCtrl.rb:24:in

0.36 release problem?
I tried sending this a day or two ago but I didn''t see it appear. I''ve just tried the wxRuby 0.36 release but appear to get the following error (I got it from bigdemo.rb too). Drawing thread not getting enough time from scheduler?
Need some assistance with animation again... When I run the drawing code in a separate thread, it''s slow as heck. I think it may be because the drawing thread isn''t getting enough time from the thread scheduler. I was able to reproduce the problem in my little sample program simply by increasing the number of lines it draws per update. I''m lucky to get one frame

1.9.3 release, rakefile
Hi I''d like to put out a 1.9.3 release perhaps later this week/weekend. If you have a chance to test the build and samples esp with latest rubygems, please do. There are still some bugs on the list, and samples to do, but this should address all the build/install probs that have come up. And it would be good to get some testing and feedback on some of the new classes. A note on the

Adding more sugar to wxSugar
Hi all, New wxRuby event handling offers the choice between using blocks or methods seamlessly and easily. This is great respectively for simple app and more complex app. Nevertheless, currently the creation of an application, a frame, or a dialog is very tedious for simple app : - you need to create a subclass of Wx::App, Wx::Frame ... - you need to put the initialization code in the initialize

BusyCursor probs in 0.6
The new block version of BusyCursor doesn''t work for me -- some actions in between the { braces } do not get carried out. To illustrate, I have taken the nothing.rbw sample app, and added a couple of lines to it, so the full code now reads: require ''wxruby'' include Wx class MyFrame < Wx::Frame def initialize(title) super(nil, -1, title) end end class

TaskBarIcon gives Typerror
Hi, I''m working with wxruby since 2 days but next to this Wiki: http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/wiki/wiki.pl and this Doc: http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/doc/ I couldn''t find something usefull for it. Also del.icio.us has no intresting links. Do you know any good website or book about wxruby? My problem at the moment is, I wanna test the TaskBarIcon on Gnome and so I did:

wxruby unfriendly to other threads?
I''ve seen a few e-mails about multithreading with respect to wxruby but nothing recent. Unless I''m mistaken, and that may be, there still appear to be problems. The following code seems to hang my spawned thread in favor of the wxruby event loop: Thread.new do puts "in thread" loop do sleep 5 puts "looping" end end puts "main

WxRuby + Ruby/SDL
Hi, I am making a game with Ruby/SDL and have run into trouble finding a GUI to cooperate. I have seen numerous examples of wxWindows in combination with SDL (wxPython and PyGame), but have yet to be able to do it in ruby (PyGame example: http://wiki.wxpython.org/index.cgi/IntegratingPyGame). I am not very good with wxRuby as this is my first time using it and thought some more knowledgable users

No joy from Wx::App.dispatch, Wx::App.yield...
OK, back with another iteration of the same problem... I updated my game demo, but the Close button failed to respond when (and only when) there were too many objects onscreen. The drawing loop is probably lasting longer than my drawing timer interval. I was able to reproduce the problem in my (probably familiar by now) test script just by boosting the number of lines drawn per frame. After
