tagged 0.0.37; release plans
Hi
I just tagged 0.0.37 in Subversion. I also added a note on the Wiki on
how to do this, and how to checkout a clean version:
http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/wiki/wiki.pl?Release_HowTo
For the build, I''m just about to upload a tarball, and will add a
powerpc gem once the compiler''s chugged away. Please upload for your
platform as you''re ready.
I suggest we announce

Re: Problem building wxRuby: htmlproc.h not found
Hi,
Has this problem been resolved?
I encountered the same problem on my FC3 system with wxGTK-2.4.2 and
wxruby-0.6.
Thanks.

sash position problem
Hi,
I''ve written a small app implementing SplitterWindow and have a problem
with specifying the sash position on Windows.
At the moment, I call split_vertically and pass it a positive integer for
position. This works as expected on FreeBSD and Linux (Ubuntu and
Debian), but seems to have no effect on Windows.
Is there something particular I need to be doing to get this to work on

grid control example doesn''t work on osx.4
Hi,
I am trying to use wxruby2-preview (0.0.38) on my intel macbook
running os10.4.8. I am having a beast of a time running the examples
in the tutorials. The super basic frame example worked but the
simple grid tutorial bombs with the following message:

wxruby2 alpha status
Hi all,
How soon can we do our alpha (binary gem) release?
1. I would like to get the samples working a bit better, but am ok
simply documenting most of the current problems. Do the samples crash
every few minutes for other people? Or is it just me? I would like to
have a copyright/license comment at the top of every sample file before
the alpha release.
2. I would like to receive and merge a

gem version numbering
Hi all,
I am concerned about the version number for our gem. Currently, we have
it set to 1.9, indicating that it is "before the upcoming 2.0 release".
However, there is nothing in the version number that indicates this is a
"preview" "alpha" "buggy" release.
The gem version numbering scheme does not allow things like 2.0-pre. It
also requires each public

error finding library when running test program
I''m new to Ruby and wxRuby, and I just installed Ruby 185-21 (I run WinXP),
then used gem to install wxRuby2. When I try to run a short test program

screenshots & wxruby apps
Hi
I''ve added a page to the wiki to show some screenshots opf the wxRuby
samples:
http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/wiki/wiki.pl?ScreenShots
I''d like to get some screenshots for OS X to add to this, if anyone
could supply them please. It would be nice to show the minimal sample
for all three platforms, plus perhaps some of the ones that aren''t
included there.

ShapedWindow.rbw
These patches implement wxRegion and the ShapedWindow sample. I stole
the ruby image from ruby-lang.org. Shamelessly. Maybe someone has a
better image we can use for the shaped window. It didn''t seem to make
sense to use the Python image. I''d like something even bigger than what
I stol^h^h^h^hmade, preferably. Image goes in icons.
I had to %ignore one function in wxRegion.

wxruby2 beta 1.9.0 released
Hi
I''m pleased to announce the release of wxruby2 version 1.9.0. This is a
significant milestone for wxruby as this is the first release that we
consider near to production quality. We hope that this 1.9.x series of
releases will soon lead to a stable wxruby 2.0.

The easiest way to install is using a ready-to-use binary gem for your
platform:

Hello all,

widgets per row, resulting in a differing number or widgets per column.
At first I tried to simply do something like the following:

Wx::Window#get_text_extent patch
Here''s a patch to fix Wx::Window#get_text_extent - it requires that the
patches from teh last message are applied, to enable *INPUT etc typemaps.
Roy - though the function works correctly when called from Ruby, it
still causes a crash when called internally when clicking on a Wx::Grid
cell. Saw your message on SWIG mailing list, hopefully someone there can
help out.

you have first refusal as you''re owed the biggest chunk of kudos for
getting us this far.

wxruby.so error with weft-qda
Dear wxruby users
I''ve been trying to get wxruby-based weft-qda 0.9.6 running on a linux from
scratch 6.1 system (this list had a discussion about weft-qda last year and
alex fenton''s also been trying to help me out - no luck so far).
I get stuck with wxruby 0.60 (I think). I compiled wxruby against wxGTK 2.4.2
(without gtk2, without unicode - gtk+ version is 1.2.10) - after
