(box-) plot annotation: italic within paste?
Dear R users, in the example below the name of the genus will be displayed in the main titles using the variable predictor[i] and paste. I would like to have the genus name in italic. bug in R 2.7.0 (PR#11497)
In the latest version R2.7.0 the following command does not work anymore: x <- eval(parse(prompt = paste("give value for x > "))) It does give the pompt, but the object x is not created. hd sometimes 'hangs' a few seconds
hi, I recently changed my filesystem to ext3 (from ext2), and since then, my hard disk sometimes seems to 'hang' a few seconds (in fact the whole system hangs then, and only the hd LED is on), before continuing normally... This happens for example (not always though) when I untar an archive and try to ls in the newly created directory... Is there an explanation for this? And if so,

ssh-keyscan bug (not really exploitable)
ssh-keyscan may, under very specific circumstances, be vulnerable to something akin to a buffer overflow. [patch] Automatically add keys to agent
My keys are secured with a passphrase. That's good for security, but having to type the passphrase either at every login or at every invocation of ssh(1) is annoying. I know I could invoke ssh-add(1) just before invoking ssh(1), if I keep track of whether I invoked it already, or write some hacky scripts; but the rest of OpenSSH is wonderfully usable without any hacks. Hence, this patch.
