compiling FahMON for Centos?
Hi all!
Thanks to those who pointed me to wxwidgets packages for centos!
I'm trying to build/install FAHMON (a monitoring tool for Folding At Home
clients) on centos 5.4, which is why I needed the wxwidgets stuff.
fahmon goes through .configure just fine, but it won't compile and it's
not clear to me what's wrong. it spews bazillions of errors, starting with:

Update on SWIG
SWIG 1.3.29 isn''t going to cut it for us. We''ll have to wait until
1.3.30, unless I can hack together a nasty workaround for a problem with
the object tracking. It seem that each SWIG module gets its own hash
for tracking objects. This means that, for example, you create a find
dialog (in FindReplaceDialog.cpp) events you get from it (from
FindDialogEvent.cpp)

SWIG exceptions
I was trying to fix the problem with wxImage and the char */unsigned
char * thing today and I was going to hand-write the functions to
translate between the two. While doing so I decided I''d clean up the
SWIG error message to make it more clear. Here''s an example
SWIG-generated argument error:
in method SetData'', argument 2 of type ''wxImage *''

What do you think about adding a shebang line to the samples so they can
be launched on linux/mac like you can on windows?

Wx::Notebook tabs, bug reports on...
Thank you Alex for the answer to my previous question --
it was exactly what I was looking for!
Moving on, I have some bugs to report:
I''m using the Wx::Notebook class and it looks to me
like Wx::NB_LEFT, Wx::NB_RIGHT, and Wx::NB_BOTTOM are
defined incorrectly. To get my tabs to appear on the
bottom, for example, I find I have to use Wx::NB_LEFT.

Wx::HtmlWindow.on_link_clicked
Hello, wxruby-users.
This is an addition which implement wrapper for
overloading wxHtmlWindow::OnLinkClicked method. Unfortunately, it was
impossible to make it correctly without ugly hack to wxpp.rb, but i`m
hope it does not broke it.
Please look at attachment for a patch for htmlwindow.t and wxpp.rb and
additional file htmllinkinfo.t (need to be added to $objs array in
extconf.rb).

No joy from Wx::App.dispatch, Wx::App.yield...
OK, back with another iteration of the same problem... I updated my
game demo, but the Close button failed to respond when (and only when)
there were too many objects onscreen. The drawing loop is probably
lasting longer than my drawing timer interval. I was able to
reproduce the problem in my (probably familiar by now) test script
just by boosting the number of lines drawn per frame.

Patch for Unicode on windows
This patch makes Unicode the default build for windows. You can
override the default by setting a WXRUBY_NO_UNICODE environment variable.

[Fwd: [ wxruby-Bugs-6144 ] error: cast from ‘void*’ to ‘int’ loses precision]
I think we can mark this bug closed and check in the patch. Anyone have
any concerns/questions before I do?

Wx::Window#get_text_extent patch
Here''s a patch to fix Wx::Window#get_text_extent - it requires that the
patches from teh last message are applied, to enable *INPUT etc typemaps.
Roy - though the function works correctly when called from Ruby, it
still causes a crash when called internally when clicking on a Wx::Grid
cell. Saw your message on SWIG mailing list, hopefully someone there can
help out.

Hi!
Is drag''n''drop works currently under wxruby?
I want an app, where you can drag files from a wxlistctrl to a
wxtreectrl.
Can anyone show a little example?

Wx::FileDialog and common dialogs
The documentation for Wx::FileDialog is incorrectly generated:
http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/doc/filedialog.html
Every time the ''*'' (for the wildcard character in file filters) appears,
the doc instead switches between boldface and normal.
Also, it seems like the links under "See also" are broken.

Wx::ToolBar#insert_tool
Hey guys,
Wx::ToolBar#insert_tool, is either not referenced right, or needs to be
updated.
1.) Wx::ToolBar#insert_tool(size_t
pos, ToolBarToolBase tool) comes up with a No overloading function
type error, AKA 404 Not Found
2.) Wx::ToolBar#insert_tool(size_t pos, Integer toolId, Bitmap bitmap1,

Nightly Linux build?
Hey guys,
I''m really sorry to be so out of touch these days. We just hired two new
programmers at work so I''m busy bringing them up to speed...in time for
them to help us get a major release out at the end of the year.
So my personal goals for wxruby participation at the moment are:
1. Respond to any support requests as quickly as possible
2. Respond to any questions from you

common.i patch
The latest cvs version of SWIG breaks a few things. I have patched
common.i to fix most of it. There will be some other things later that
should be compatible with all versions. Can someone test to see if this
compiles with the old version?

Official name change to wxruby2
The CVS module has been renamed from wxruby-swig to wxruby2, and I have
checked in the related changes to reflect the name change. Anyone with a
CVS tree will need to re-checkout from CVS because of the module name
change.
There is now a wx.rb in the lib/ directory, which loads the wxruby2
shared library that gets built.
I have tagged this as 0.0.22.

swigwin
Anyone on the list have some pointers for getting swig working properly
on Windows? Anytime I reswig a file it breaks wx.cpp. I''m sure I''ve
got a setup problem but I haven''t been able to put my finger on it yet.
