Swig generates bad interface to GetTextExtent
Swig''s bad interface generation strikes again. get_text_extent called
with 1 argument maps to WindowDC''s _wrap_wxWindowDC_GetTextExtent__SWIG_0
Since this generates a wxFont that''s not initialized to nil it fails
when calling into wxWindows. Anyone have a suggestion?

Adding ScreenDC
Here is the file to add ScreenDC. I noticed that it inherits from wxDC
which is what the docs show but the headers for each platform are much
different:
- Mac,MSW,os2,motif,palmos all inherit from wxWindowDC
- X11,GTK inherit from wxPaintDC
- MGL, cocoa inherit from wxDC
After saying that on Windows it still work inheriting from wxDC so I
left it for now, any thoughts?

[Q] Apply Function Over Multiple Array Margins
Is there a canonical means to apply a function
over multiple arrays simultaneously? For example,
if I wanted to plot each line with a different color?
Or is a for loop conversion my best option?
x <- seq(0, 8, by = 2)
y <- matrix(1:15, nrow = 5, byrow = TRUE)
my.colors <- heat.colors(3)
drawLines <- function(row) {
lines(x, row) # want corresponding 'my.colors' here
}

Tagged wxruby2 v0.0.29, plus added more directors
Since things seemed to be somewhat stable (that is, wxruby2 compiles and
runs on all three platforms), I tagged what has been there for a couple
days as v0_0_29. Nothing magic about it, but it had been a while since I
had tagged.
Then I worked on adding directors to the classes that don''t have them,
in the hopes of avoiding more segfault crashes during garbage
collection. I was able

wxRuby: MemoryDC problems...
I''m trying to put together a quick test of buffered animation with
WxRuby, but I''m encountering a fair amount of trouble... I''m drawing
to a Wx::Bitmap first, then using Wx::DC#draw_bitmap to copy it to a
Wx::Window. But I get the following error:
C:/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/wxruby-1.9.1-i386-mswin32/lib/wx/classes/bitmap.rb:18:in

Some patches.
Hi,
in my path of getting the controls sample to work nicely, I fixed some
classes on the way, see the attached diffs. I had some difficulties, but
could track down all stupid bugs and am now almost happy with the code
:)
(I had the complete ImageHandler hieracy implemented at some time, but
than I discovered the error was not in unloaded ImageHandlers but in the
controls-program which does not

small patch for wxWindow::GetTextExtent
I have not worked on wxRuby2 for awhile and decided to download the
latest CVS HEAD and saw that it still had a problem with
wxWindow::GetTextExtent (in my case showing up when editing Grid
cells). So I copied the method signature from the wxDC::GetTextExtent
which seems to be working, changed 2 variable names and made the
typemap the same as used for wxDC. Well in my program editing grid

Wx::Image resizing
Hello,
I am having problems using the ''resize'' and ''size'' methods of
Wx::Image. They seem to be undefined:
irb(main):021:0> image = Wx::Image.new("input.ppm")
=> #<Wx::Image:0xb7b49ef4>
irb(main):022:0> image.respond_to? "rescale"
=> true
irb(main):023:0> image.respond_to? "resize"
=> false

ObjectPreviouslyDeleted when trying to paint
Hi,
I''m running into something along the lines of bug 5383. I''m hoping I''m
doing something obviously wrong and that someone can point me in the
right direction.
I''ve got a custom paint event handler:
def on_paint
puts "mainframe on_paint"
paint do |dc|
dc.clear
@cl.draw dc
end
end
Then I''ve got a key press

Adding to wxRuby (Now I fired up)
Nick, Curt, Kevin,
Now that I have dabbled ever so slightly in adding to wxRuby on a source
level (and it wasn''t perfect, Nick had to fix some of my code!), I feel
all fired up.
Any areas specific that need to be added that I could test my luck with
again, or can I just go pick and choose?
This gets funner every day... (yes, i constitute "funner" as a word),

Dragging images across the canvas
Hi wxRuby Gurus,
I''m trying to write a sample program which allows me to drag an image
(by left_mouse_button down) across the canvas.
I got it to work ... well, sort of. The problem is I can drag it only by
clicking on the left top corner of the image and nowhere else.
Besides, the dragging is not very smooth. How can I make it better?
I am using wxRuby 0.6.0 on Win XP (Home) and

HtmlWindow and friends
Hi
Attached is a patch to add HtmlWindow and some of its friends, including
HtmlEasyPrinting. Also a sample.
I haven''t tried exposing the parsing and rendering API yet to allow
custom tags etc - I just wanted to get basic HTML and the 0.6.0
compatibility classes first. There may well be some quite easy classes left.
There''s one ugly kludge to get OnOpeningURL to compile -
