XMMS: busywaiting??
So, I'm seeing XMMS behave mighty strangely here.
decode_example piped into a command line player manages to playback realtime on
my p233 somewhat easily. XMMS (with the Vorbis plugin) utterly pegs the CPU
and stutters badly.
So, I started playing. Playing back mp3, xmms stutters badly (mp123 and xaudio
play back realtime without difficulty). Playing back straight wav files, xmms

rsync 2.5.0 released
I am happy to announce a new stable release of rsync-2.5.0. This
supersedes 2.4.6 and 2.4.7pre4.
In particular, this release is supposed to fix the hang bug
experienced by many people when using the -v option. rsync 2.5.0
also adds support for IPv6, and works on more platforms. Other
enhancements are listed in the NEWS file below.
Please report success or failure in building or using

axis line width in boxplots
Dear R-helpers,
I've produced boxplots for a publication but I have a visual problem that I don't mamage to fix. For visual reasons, I reduced the line width with "lwd=0.5". It works nicely for all the lines (frame of the plot, boxes, notches and medians) exept for the axis line. Thus the two axes appear twice the width of the frame. How can I control only the width of the axis

Update on report PR#1145 (with a cross-reference to PR#1026).
The original report was that compiling with gcc2.95.2 gcc and the
related g77 on Irix 6.,5.13 produced an R which wailed its tests with:
>> On entry to DGEMM parameter number 1 had an illegal value
To some extend this confused me, as the source only seems to mention
DGEMM in lowercase. Eventually, after the debug code I added did
nothing, I realized that the R which was build was not

Re: ioctl 00005382 not supported by Xen blkdev
It seems like this is used by proprietary software like VMware Server as
well, so there''d better be some code to handle it - not returning
''Invalid'' at least ...

Newbie question...
Hello,
I've successfully compiled and installed
samba-1.9.18p7 under HP-UX A.09.05 and I
am able to "see" Unix disks from my PC.
However, each and every time I access my
home dir or any subdir, I get this error
message being logged by syslogd :

Port forwarding from dom0 to bridged domU with IPVS
Hi list,
We, an OSS advocacy group, setup a Xen 3.1 machine composed of :
. a 64 bits dom0 running Debian stable amd64
. 2 hvm domUs running OpenBSD amd64
. 2 hvm domUs running NetBSD i386
This machine is to be hosted and reachable from the Internet, but it will
only have one public IP.
Naturally, our first tought was to port-forward using iptables /
netfilter. We didn''t really

I have installed lighttpd1.4.10 on my debian server.
The installation goes well and rails 1.0 do recognize lighty when

However, after the first request to lighty, lighty returned the right
page, then
shut itself down:(
Did anybody had similar experience?
Thanks!

TDM400P in 2U server?
Hello, this is a question for the Asterisk systems-integrators; I am
creating a rackmount Asterisk server, and would like to start with a TDM400P
card. I believe the TDM400P card would work in this server, with the PCI-X
configuration:
