Problems compiling R65.0 (PR#262)
Hi, I appear to have a slight problem compiling R0.65.0 under Linux (slackware) using g77. By simply typing configure then make, I obtain a binary which when "ldd" does not contain the f2c library. I therefore cannot load any libraries containing fortran code (I obtain unresolved symbol messages from R.X11 and an unable to load shared library from dyn.load(file)). If I change the

Compiling on a Red Hat 5.1 system
I'm feeling kinda stupid right now, but I'm actually having problems compiling R-0.62.3 on a Red Hat 5.1 Linux system. I'd be happy if someone could point out for me where to look to fix the problem. I've included the output from the compiling below. Thanks for any help. Fredrik make -f Makefile.2nd all make[1]: Entering directory `/home/fredrigl/R-0.62.3' Building R cd

Jim, you should ask questions like these on R-devel. MacOS X: Packages KernSmooth and cluster won't compile
Hello, I'm using R 1.40 on MacOS X X.1.2 (installed via the fink package manager). To upgrade my installed packages, I tried to use update.packages() today. All went well for most packages, with the exception of KernSmooth and cluster. In both cases, libraries were not found although I think they are present. After uploading and uncompressing ruby 1.8.2, I ran the configure script, and here is the output: -jailshell-2.05b$ ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/ruby --exec-prefix=/usr/local/ruby checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnulibc1 checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnulibc1 checking

problems compiling R packages with Linux
Hello out there, my first try to install a package (e.g. ctest from CRAN) didn't succeed; looking at the error messages I think it must be a configuration problem of my machine, but as I'm not very experienced I would be glad if someone could give me a hint ... R's version is 0.63.0, my i386-Linux is kernel 2.0.35. I hadn't had problems to compile R, and R itself seems to work.

R-beta: cannot make R
Can anyone help? I am trying to install R-0.62.2 on a Sun with OS 5.6 (Solaris 2.6), and gcc/f77. Unfortunatley the simple commands ./configure --prefix=/opt/R make did not work, complaining when building help/docs. It claims to have problems perl (which has worked fine so far) but in practice it is not only a documentation problem: if I force "make install" and run R, then it

segmentation fault with GCC 3.0.2
I have now tested R 1.3.1 compiled with GCC 3.0.2 on Solaris and the example I previously posted (repeated below) still gives a segmentation fault, as it does with GCC 3.0.1 but not with 2.95.2. The eigen calculation sometimes needs to be repeated several times before the segmentation fault occurs. La.eigen does not cause a problem. (The problem occurred with R-devel too, but I have not tested
