cannot write to CIFS shares on a Windows box from Centos 6
Another issue that I found was that I cannot write to CIFS shares on a Windows server with Centos 6. I can write to them from Centos 5 and older Fedora versions, but not from Centos 6. Any ideas on what needs to be changed or where I can start looking for some indication of what is wrong? NFS mounts group name shows as nobody
I am trying to find out why my group names are showing as nobody. I have a CentOS 6 system that is acting as a NFS server. I have some older fedora clients where the group name shows up fine, but newer CentOS 6 clients have the group name for NFS mounts show up as "nobody". The username shows up fine but the group name shows up as "nobody". I have tried changing some setting

How to retrieve results of most recent command?
In R, is there an automatic variable that stores the results of the most recent command or commands? (I am thinking of a behavior like Mathematica's % result-history substitution syntax.) (I am using R 2.3.1 on Linux and R 2.3.1 on Windows XP.) This is a pretty basic question, so I tried to do an extensive version of the recommended pre-posting homework. >

multinom(nnet) analogy for biglm package?
I would like to perform a multinomial logistic regression on a large data set, but do not know how. I've only thought of a few possibilities and write to seek advice and guidance on them or deepening or expanding my search. On smaller data sets, I have successfully loaded the data and issued commands such as: length(levels(factor(data$response))) [1] 6 # implies polychotomy library(nnet)

[MAINTENANCE] Shutting down FTP services at netfilter.org
Hi, Kernel.org already disabled FTP years ago [1]: "... we're thinking it's time to terminate another service that has important protocol and security implications -- our FTP servers." So netfilter.org will also be shutting down FTP services by June 12th 2020. As an alternative, you can still reach the entire netfilter.org software repository through HTTP at this new

FW: [isp-clec] Treasury disconnects tax on long-distance calls - with refunds
FYI Brian Fertig Treasury disconnects tax on long-distance calls WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The brief Spanish-American War ended more than a century ago, but not the federal tax assessed to fund the victory. Until now. On Thursday, the U.S. Treasury said it would stop collecting the 3% federal excise tax on long-distance calls, a fee originally assessed in 1898. The government also said it

Tax Preparation with WINE
As approximately 130 million other US citizens, I am dutifully preparing for the April deadline for filing my income tax returns. Reviewing the WINE AppDB for installable tax software to help out in the process, it appeared that 2nd Story Software's TAX ACT was most likely to work with the WINE version (1.1.17) installed on my Mandriva-equipped HP laptop. As it turned out, TAX ACT was able

PAM authentication with winbind and AD
All, After two days of googling, reading, swearing and cursing, I am finally admitting I cannot solve this one. I have three production FreeBSD servers running various network utilities (DHCP, bacula, zabix, syslog, rsync). These have been running fine for several years. As a primary Windows domain (accounting firm. Not much choice), I like to centralize all logins into AD which is currently

DomU Guests not shutting down nicely when Dom0 Hypervisor shuts down
Hi Francis. Personally I would gracefully shutdown all the VM?s first, before attempting to shutdown the xen hypervisor. Are you getting any fsck errors when restarting those VM?s? NUT not shutting down one of three UPSs (sometimes none of them shut down)
I have three APC SmartUPS 5000s. Two of them are AP9617 and one is AP9619. I have a RS-232 connections from my monitor host to all three. All three report status and give information. One of the two AP9617 - ups3-1 - does not shut down when FSD is sent. It did when I first set this system up a year or two ago but it's stopped doing so since then. Resetting the management interface does not

DomU Guests not shutting down nicely when Dom0 Hypervisor shuts down
I am using Xen 4.6.0-8.el7 on CentOS 7 with 3 Linux DomUs. I did have Xen 4.? on CentOS 6.5 on my previous system. I installed using yum install centos-release-xen. On shutting down the Hypervisor it used to wait for the DomUs to shut down gracefully (one can take a minute or more), then on starting up again it would restart the DomUs, all nice and controlled. For some reason the DomUs (CentOS

Mongrel Issue... Site shutting down...
I am new to Mongrel. We have a website that was created by someone using Ruby. The problem we are having is that the mongrel log file is shutting the site down when the log file gets to 1mb. Is there a way to configure the log file to cycle at a given size? What are my options to keep the site running? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
