Adding more sugar to wxSugar
Hi all,
New wxRuby event handling offers the choice between using blocks or
methods seamlessly and easily. This is great respectively for simple
app and more complex app.
Nevertheless, currently the creation of an application, a frame, or a
dialog is very tedious for simple app :
- you need to create a subclass of Wx::App, Wx::Frame ...
- you need to put the initialization code in the initialize

Statusbar usage
Hi!
While playing around with a little example, I''ve realized, that I don''t
exactly know, how to work with the statusbar. When just calling
set_status_text (setStatusText in C++), then repeating messages don''t
display again. I guess there should be a magic rule about statusbar''s
text hierarchy, but can sy give me some hints about it?
Maybe some wxruby hints

Scrolling to the bottom of a Grid
Hi,
Thanks to the newly added event handlers for Wx::Grid in the 0.6.0
release, I can now provide a much slicker intreface to my "data widgets"
which heavily rely on that control.
However, I haven''t quite figured out how to programmatically scroll to
the last row of a populated grid (actually, the first empty row). So
say that I have a grid with 200 rows only 20 of which

I want to write a permalink like /year/month/day/title, code is as follows:
self.permalink = "#{now.year}/#{now.month}/#{now.day}/#{title}"

code, the url is /posts/2008%2F4%2F30%2FTest
You can see, the ''/'' is replaced by "%2F", which is not I expect.

Help understanding EVERYTHING
Team,
I am trying to learn a GUI for Ruby and I picked wxRuby.
The problem is that I am kind of slow learning this and I now feel
frustrated after trying for about at least 7 hours.
I am trying to design a simple Sudoku 9x9 grid to display numbers, 1 - 9,
using buttons.
I posted a question on Ruby forum ruby-talk and a gentleman, Alex Fenton,
answered my questions.
Alex gave me what appear to be

The flicker of the status bar.
Hi, all!
I''ve just started to use wxruby under Win2K. I didn''t use wxWindows
earlier. Can anybody explain why the status bar flickers at the top (!)
of the frame when I resize the frame and how to avoid this?
(the following code is the simplest example)

require ''wxruby''
include Wx

Wizards
Hi
Please find attached a set of patches and swig files to implement
Wizards for wxruby. Also a brief sample.
Quick q - the C declarations of evt_xxx_xxx methods and their attaching
to Ruby classes seems to be duplicated across Events.i and EvtHandler.i
- is one of these the right place to be adding them? or both?
Thanks
alex

rails-brakeman.com, an online service to find security issues in your rails projects
Hi,
I just released rails-brakeman.com, it is an online service to find
security issues in your rails projects, it works based on Justin''s great
gem brakeman <https://github.com/presidentbeef/brakeman>.
Rails developers always write code fast, but sometimes they leave some
security issues in their rails project. Do you still remember mass
assignment issues from github? Using

syntax II
Hi
Given the warm response to the syntax additions in 1.9.1 I''m considering
moving one or two more syntax extensions into core, and would like your
thoughts. Last ones, I promise. Realise we don''t want much more API
change now, but also we''ll probably also have to live with whatever we
settle on for 2.0 for a little while, so...

Also a sample - not very interesting, happy to roll this into something
else if that''s better.

end_modal question
Really stupid question, but have you wrapped this all in an App class? If you don''t have a
wxApp subclass driving your applications then all sorts of badness would happen.
