Notification Emails
Does the wiki actually send out emails to KaranbirSingh,
RalphAngenendt, RussHerrold, TimVerhoeven, AkemiYagi, NedSlider,
AlanBartlett, MarcusMoeller, TimothyLee, LaurentWandrebeck,
TimoSchoeler, GaoHu, and AlainRegueraDelgado with every edit?
It makes me a little nervous updating the T43 page or my homepage. I
don't want to spam anyone.
Cheers,
Cody Jackson

Reporting for Duty.
Hello to the AdminGroup,
>From what I have been told (by a very reliable source (AY)), I should direct this for the attention of Ralph.
In the nicest possible way, Community members Akemi and Ned (aka toracat and NedSlider) have been twisting my arm to get me to agree to join the Wiki editors. Being susceptible to the right sort of persuasion, I eventually agreed.
Over the last few weeks I

iptables article for Wiki
Hi List,
I have been asked in this thread if I would contribute an article on
iptables to the Wiki:
http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=10240&forum=37
The article would be based on a tutorial I have previously written here:
http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=432469
I'm not sure where the article should best go so leave that to your
discretion. If you

MigrationGuide and Wiki thoughts.
The discussions on the HowTos/MigrationGuide page[s] back in late March
never reached closure.
The last suggestion on structuring was that there should be
version-specific pages such as HowTos/MigrationGuide/CentOS5. I see the
page was linked to from HowTos, and Ralph's comment:

Centos 6.x and Freenx issue..Solved!!
Thanks much to* Christoph *for pointing me in the right direction, appears
to be an issue with the latest Vmware -tools, not sure I did a clean
install with the opensource ones to see if they had the same issues but
applying both of the fixes in the link post solves the problem with running
the latest freenx and nx rpms found in the repo. Thanks again :)

Migration from tpop3d to dovecot - troubles galore!
Hi people,
I am trying to migrate some users from tpop3d (Maildir mailboxes) to
dovecot. The most important aspect of this migration, and which I
cannot seem to get right, is to first be able to make dovecot to
authenticate against the current DB being used by tpop3d so that
I can use imapsync to transfer the user mails. And I do believe
that is what I am unable to get right!!
So here goes what

Fw: Samba 3.0-alpha 18 with ldapsam backend and primary gid of user?
Hi again,
I just wanted to add this to make my information more complete:
The id primary group id of user "eddie" in the ldap tree is 500:201.
201 is the group "Domain Users"
But you have to know that user "eddie" also excists with id and gid 500:500
in the /etc/passwd and /etc/group files.
Examining the log file below, this raises the following question to me:

Dovecot Authentication Problem (REVISED)
Hello List,
I am back again and I think I am edging closer to getting a solution.
I have done some modifications and now dovecot gives me a different
error message than before....
Here is what I have for the password_query and user_query
password_query = SELECT popbox.cleartext AS password FROM popbox, domain \
WHERE popbox.local_part = 'eddie' AND popbox.domain_name =

Samba 3.0-alpha 18 with ldapsam backend and primary gid of user?
Hello list,
Can someone tell me why I keep getting these kind of errors in the samba log
files?
I just went over from 2.2.5 to 3.0-alpha 18, I never had these errors in the
2.2.5 version.
Especially the rid [0] is a complete mistery to me since I have no account
defined in my ldap service that has rid 0.
Thank you very much for your help.
Eddie Lania.
