Patch for Unicode on windows
This patch makes Unicode the default build for windows. You can override the default by setting a WXRUBY_NO_UNICODE environment variable. Roy _______________________________________________ wxruby-users mailing list wxruby-users@rubyforge.org http://rubyforge.org/mailman/listinfo/wxruby-users

Scintilla
Hi I''ve been trying out the StyledTextCtrl/Scintilla component bundled with wxWidgets 2.8. Surprisingly, it''s very easy to get this working at a basic level with wxRuby (95% of credit to Roy, who originally created a SWIG file for this). So I''m wondering: should we try and integrate this into wxRuby core? Pros: - a cool component, interesting to developers - not

1.9.2, OpenGL
[third sending attempt...] I''m going to try and test out the samples on MSW over the next few days and if things look good I think we should release 1.9.2. Might try and fix the bugs related to TreeCtrl#get_first_child as these might involve minor API changes. So if anyone has any time to test out SVN HEAD and look for anything funny, please do. Also, we have an anonymous patch

Then I need to compute ssdw which is sum of square deviation. If I do equal trimming at both tail of distribution that I chose, I will use the first ssd formulae which is "a". But if I am doing unequal

Patches to rake files
rakewx.rb: - Added a $debug_build variable so when we do eventually we can also release non debug builds. I did not make this a constant on purpose so in the package tasks we can change it to false if we want to always make non debug builds by default. - Changed wx_config to use the $debug_build variable rakemswin.rb: - Updated the copyright year. - removed the $DEBUG const and make use of

for parameter 'keep' in 'step'
Hello Lady or Sir, I want to do model selection with 'step' function. But there is a trouble to me. For example, there are 5 independent variables, X0,X1,X2,X3 and X4; and 1 dependent variable y. I want to run stepwise regression y ~ X0 + X1 + X2 + X3 + X4, and I want to keep X0 always in the model. Every time when I run command 'step' with 'keep', error information

Hi. I''m desperately trying to learn Ruby and wxWidgets, on my 64-bit Linux machine. However when I try to run any of the samples from the command line I get the following error message: ruby: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/wxruby-1.9.8-x86_64-linux/lib/wxruby2.so: undefined symbol: Init_wxMediaCtrl I''d be very grateful for any help. rakewx
With the recent check-in I accidentally committed my change to rakewx to remove the -fvirtual swig option. -fvirtual is incompatible with SWIG 1.3.30. It''s not necessary (as I recall) for 1.3.29 but only reduces the size of the wrapper code slightly. If anyone feels strongly about this I can make it conditional on the SWIG version but simply removing it seems the safest and

Looking for volunteers (no C++ knowledge needed!)
I just posted a follow-up to our bug that old SWIG versions are not properly detected, leading to unclear failure messages: --- Actually, this just got a lot simpler. We used to support both 1.3.25+ and 1.3.24-, so we had to do both kinds of detection. Now, we REQUIRE 1.3.29, and therefore any SWIG that can''t give us its version number the new way is automatically too old. We can get

Scintilla
wxScintilla already comes with a SWIG friendly header file. I modified the rakewx and the Scintilla.i file to include it directly from the wxScintilla install. This means it''s an odd-ball compared to our other classes. Does anyone see a problem with this? I think it''s best to use the one supplied with the installation to avoid problems of the header file getting out of

Hello Everyone
I have a bit of a problem with installation. I installed wxX11 in my linux box. I compiled the demos and all the demos, save dbbrowse, work. I think I have a functional wx. Now I''m trying to install wxRuby from source, since I have a 64 bit machine. I only have permission to my home directory so my installation is : /usr/people/stevenq/Applications/wxX11/

Attached are some patches to implement the TaskBarIcon. Let me know how this works on Linux and OS X. You may want to ''svn update'' first and get the new version of ruby.png since I fixed the transparent background.
