Tinc performance on a Dir-300
Hi,
we are using Tinc in our Freifunk Network in Oldenburg for internode
connections over the internet. So Tinc is running on OpenWrt 10.03 on Dlink
Dir-300 Routers.
We all have enough internet bandwith (1,6 MB/sec and more) but we only get a
maximum speed of ~350KB/sec between two tinc nodes because then tinc uses 99%
of the cpu.
Is it possible to get more Speed with tinc on this machines?

ProcessPriority=high breaks tinc from starting
On Fedora 11 (yes, with SELINUX enabled and enforcing) setting
tinc.conf's ProcessPriority=high prevents tincd from starting.
Anybody have an answer?
tinc was compiled by me, didn't come from Fedora's rpm repo.

Crosscompile error tinc => 1.0.11 on openwrt whiterussian 0.9
Hello!
I try to maintain a couple off old Openwrt based routers. The routers
run openwrt whiterussian, so it quite outdated. But it is a little
dangerous to update a remote machine from whiterussian to kamikaze or
backfire, this may be usefull for others.
I used the openwrt whiterussian 0.9 sdk and the attached Makefile to
compile all tinc versions till 1.0.11. Since 1.0.11 the compile process

IPTABLES rule for separating users
I have an OpenWrt 10.03 router [ IP: 192.168.1.1 ], and it has a DHCP server pool: 192.168.1.0/24 - clients are using it through wireless/wired connection. Ok!
Here's the catch: I need to separate the users from each other.
How i need to do it: by IPTABLES rule [ /etc/firewall.user ]. Ok!
"Loud thinking": So i need a rule something like this [on the OpenWrt router]:

Self-DoS
Hi,
I have successfully connected a network of about 60 nodes (many of which are virtual machines) with tinc 1.0 but encounter a severe bug when physical connectivity between two major locations is lost and then reconnected. From what I gathered, many nodes attempt to connect to many other nodes, causing 100% CPU load on all nodes, taking down the whole network with no node succeeding connecting

Email to HP Product Suggestions - Seamless Transparent Fax Gateway
i sent a product suggestion to HP. It was a request to use software that
already exists in their JetDirect and Multifunction Fax machines to make
them seamlessly interoperate with a fax gateway in a way transparent to the
end user. Essentially, giving the sysadmin a choice in fax transport
mechanism to route all faxes over analog telephone transport or over the
network.
Thank you for taking

PCI passthrough issue
Hello,
I''m facing a strange issue with network card PCI passthrough on my
openwrt test domU.
- With network PCI passthrough, DNS lookup failed for some domains
(exemple, google.com) but not for other (free.fr my ISP, or my domain
jbfavre.org). I can ping an IP address without any problem.
- Starting domU as a "normal" (ie without PCI passthrough), no problem.
As far as I can

nut in openwrt
Hello,
I have a UPS device connected (USB) to a Debian server, but I want to
change it and connect to a OpenWRT router.
I installed this packages:
nut-server (2.6.5-2)
nut-driver-blazer_usb (2.6.5-2)
The problem is that I don't know where to configure it.
Anyone with a UPS connect to a OpenWRT device?
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

Tinc and OpenWRT
Greetings.
I'm new to tinc, but have so far managed to get a couple laptops and a
hosted server all connected. They're working as expected, running
Tinc 1.1-pre11, which I compiled from source.
Next I want to move on to adding my home router into the mix. My
routers run OpenWRT. I don't have experience compiling anything from
source for OpenWRT, but OpenWRT has Tinc 1.0.25

Can't ping non-tinc host in subnet across VPN
Dear list,
I'm currently trying to simulate a VPN in a very simple configuration at home.
My normal home-net 192.168.0.0/24 serves as "the internet". Three test
machines are used, two of them connected to "the internet":
odin , external IP 192.168.0.100/24 on eth0
thor , external IP 192.168.0.101/24 on eth0
My VPN uses address space 10.0.0.0/8 in the following way:

Ok. I think I'll start with the 1.0 series packages that are already
out there and get them working.

Tinc and OpenWRT
Hey Saverio,
I'd really like the idea of a tinc-1.1-pre package for OpenWRT. I'm
currently using tinc-1.1 with an Ed25519-only network, really like the
new features and CLI and want to add some OpenWRT routers into the mix.
How do you plan to handle things with OpenSSL?
tinc-1.1 from git should be able to compile without it (but will then
only support the built-in algorithms). Depending

Is something there in that task, what is harder than

Anyway, I want to try
