TINC 2.0
Hello, I'm studying the very interesting tinc's capabilities, especially with the "full mesh networking" approach which is a great feature. But I wonder about the project activity. I'm very interested with the 2.0 wishlist (certificate based authorisation and TLS integration) and I would like to know if TINC's development is already active. Thanks. -- Mathieu

Using Linux domain member machine account for WPA-Enterprise authentication
I've noticed that when a Windows computer that is in my domain connects to my WPA-Enterprise wifi it first attempts to authenticate with the SSID using the domain member's machine account, instead of prompting the user to enter their own credentials. Has anyone ever tried to do this with a Linux domain member? For example, my linux domain member laptop uses Network Manager as the GUI,

TLS Authentication Protocols
Hi, We are planning to integrate CISCO-ISE with Samba-AD (Version 4.6.5). Websense gateway / proxy are all properly integrated and even single sign-on is properly functioning. However, before attempting integration of Cisco ISE with Samba-AD, through I should clarify on the following. Hence writing this mail. wpa_supplicant and wi
I am using a Netgear MA401 with the wi driver, and am having trouble using wpa_supplicant to set static WEP keys. I have the wlan_wep.ko module loaded with wlan and wi built into the kernel. My wpa_supplicant.conf looks like this: ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant ctrl_interface_group=wheel network={ ssid="INTERNERD" scan_ssid=1 priority=1 key_mgmt=NONE

a few tinc questions
Greetings All, Can someone please try to answer a few questions for me regarding TINC so that it might clear up some things that I can trying to get a better picture on. 1. I am trying to understand the ideas that allow a TINC host to join multiple networks which raise questions. What prevents a user from joining multiple networks without authorization to join. How is that authorization

Does tinc have something akin to openvpn's --tls-auth ? Or do I not need that at all ?
Hello, I wanted to ask if tinc had something akin to openvpn's --tls-auth option, for all the reason's listed here: https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/Hardening I have read http://www.tinc-vpn.org/documentation-1.1/tinc.pdf, but I have not seen anything similar. Or do I not need that feature at all because tinc handles cryptology different than openvpn ( tinc's uses RSA keys

Combining Tinc and Cspace
Hello, a question to the developers: Does it make sense to try to integrate Tinc with Cspace to provide an open-source alternative to Hamachi? http://cspace.in/ I have not studied any Tinc source code yet. Comments? Regards, Christian

tinc subversion copies
Hello, I just downloaded all of the tinc subversion stuff and was wondering what was the state of the 2.0 version located in "branches" directory? What is the difference over 1.03 other than a nice layout for the directory structure which I like very much? Thanks, Lonnie

Branches
I've got more changes on my to-do list, but I want to ensure I'm making my changes against the right branch. * I'm working with trunk now. I don't think its TCP tunneling is as secure as the UDP tunneling. It looks like its IVs and HMACs are added and verified in send_udppacket and receive_udppacket. The TCP connection encrypts but doesn't have these anti-modification

why does the server needs to have the client's host file
First I have the say TINC is great. it is the only one that I found fits my needs. I use it to create a virtual network for parallel computing using computers around labs and campus. i have a question though. suppose we work as a server A and client B setting. it is necessary for the client B to have the host file of the server A so that B knows where to find A. but why would A need to have the

Having more info, like the ip address of the vpn nodes in the xdot graph file of tinc
Hello, I am using tinc's feature to dump a graph of the vpn extensively to view the machines which are currently part of the vpn. In my tinc.conf I have this: GraphDumpFile = /tmp/tinc-graph Then I have a desktop starter that executes /usr/bin/xdot /tmp/tinc-graph to open the graph. I would love to have the ip addresses of the vpn ips of the tinc nodes in that graph, e.g. if one tinc node

WPA Radius wireless authentication and CentOS 5
I previously had WPA radius authentication working from my laptop to my home network with the laptop running Fedora Core 6 and the server running freeRadius under CentOS 4.4 (freeradius-1.0.1-3.RHEL4.3). I'm attempting to move my FC 6 boxes to CentOS 5 so I decided to pick on the laptop first. Unfortunately, I neglected to backup /etc before doing the CentOS 5 install (bad Dave, bad

High tinc traffic on ethernet without tinc load
Yes, exactly. There are lots of packages exchanged between tinc processes on port 655, accounting to 99 % of the Ethernet traffic, while the virtual interface stays almost idle.
