Merry Christmas, all Asterisk users!
It's the day before Christmas here in Sweden, actually the night before at this time... We celebrate Xmas on the 24th, so I'm about to log off and switch my Asterisk into "merry-christmas-mode" with the yet undocumented CLI command "frosty-mode on", a mode where the PBX will connect all incoming extensions to the "ho-ho-ho" sound file and then randomly pick a

Hi everybody, I'm trying to build a trilineare coordinate system with R. For that, I need to rotate an axis. Does anybody know, if it is possible to rotate an axis, created with the command axis(), about for instance 60 degrees? I'm looking foward to any ideas and hints and want to wish everybody a merry merry christmas. Thanks in advance. Etienne Stockhausen

Summary: Upgrading to Asterisk 1.4
Friends, Thanks for all the feedback. If you have additional success stories or important issues, feel free to continue the discussion. I've learned a lot from your input. As a developer, I spend too much time in the bug tracker, working with particular bugs, so I often wonder how on earth anyone can use this buggy platform for anything business-like. It really feels good to get

What I Want For Christmas
Calling All Mongrel Minions! I wanna have some fun and would like this as a Christmas present. The site http://www.workingwithrails.com/ has this lame popularity system that''s kind of irking some of the main Ruby contributors. I think it''s kind of funny, but would like to demonstrate what an army of motivated people can do to these kinds of popularity contests. So, as a

An unprofessional message
Dear R helpers,   I understand that this is absolutely unprofessional on my part and this group doesn't entertain such things. I have been associted with this group since last 1 and half years and have been immensely benefited by the noble service rendred by many R helpers.   So I take this opportunity to thank all of you and wish you all   "MERRY CHRISTMAS".   I sincerely apologize

Hi I''m pleased to let you know that wxruby2-preview 0.0.36 is now available on Rubyforge. Binary gems to follow... To check out a clean copy from SVN and build from source: svn co svn://rubyforge.org/var/svn/wxruby/tags/wxruby2/0.0.36 cd 0.0.36 rake gem WXRUBY_VERSION=0.0.36 From my reading of SVN docs it''s probably wise for developers to checkout anonymously as a bit of

ClamAV Installation
Hi All, I try to installed ClamAV using rpm from Karan.org repository but I can't find the clamd.conf and freshclam.conf file. After listing the file installed by using rpm -ql | grep clamav, I observe that it was really not included in the installation. Did I miss something here? If possible, I want to use RPM based installation for easy maintenance and also based on your suggestions from my

NUT Christmas mail
Dear NUT users and developers, Like the other years, before taking a small rest, here are some news related to NUT. * First, you should have seen the 2.0.5-pre1 release announcement. I don't think 2.0.5 is very far, but I realized that I've made an archive including the .svn directory (bad, bad me. I should know that release are made against exported svn, not checked out!) * Next,

gem version numbering
Hi all, I am concerned about the version number for our gem. Currently, we have it set to 1.9, indicating that it is "before the upcoming 2.0 release". However, there is nothing in the version number that indicates this is a "preview" "alpha" "buggy" release. The gem version numbering scheme does not allow things like 2.0-pre. It also requires each public

Wx::Window#get_text_extent patch
Here''s a patch to fix Wx::Window#get_text_extent - it requires that the patches from teh last message are applied, to enable *INPUT etc typemaps. Roy - though the function works correctly when called from Ruby, it still causes a crash when called internally when clicking on a Wx::Grid cell. Saw your message on SWIG mailing list, hopefully someone there can help out. alex

First drop of new memory management
Hi Just a quick update on memory leaks etc. I''ve just dropped a bunch of patches with a new approach to linking ruby''s GC to Wx''s memory handling. Still some work to do - eg bigdemo.rb falls over quite quickly - but working well for me on other samples. Briefly, it disposes of fixdeleting. For almost all objects that aren''t Windows, they should now be

doc generator now in CVS
Hi Just a quick note to let you know that the Textile doc generation stuff is now in CVS. There is a moderate amount of documentation in rake/rakedoc.rb in case you feel like generating your own local copy. The only prerequisite is the Ruby ''redcloth'' library. There''s also some info in doc/lib which might be some help if you want to tweak the output. cheers alex
