[ANNOUNCE] problems with recent ULOG patch and old ulogd
--/aVve/J9H4Wl5yVO Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi Everybody! I had to change the ulog.patch in recent patch-o-matic to use a different netlink family (it's now 5 instead of 4). This means, you will have to recompile your ulogd or any other application in order to make it work. That's also why I have

HDD duplication in RH7.3
Hi Folks, I have an internal HDD running under RH7.3. I would like to purchse a second HDD(usb external) of same geometry, and use it as a bootable snapshot of the first internal HDD. I wish to make a whole disk bootable backup regularly via this method. Is this feasible ? How should I approach this ? Any advice and/or documentations are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. karhong. --

I have been working with samba trying to get PDC functionality out of it. I tried first - version 3 from samba.org then I tried the samba that comes with rh7.3 and the last version I have been trying to get to work is the latest samba-tng. samba newbie having trouble configuring samba on RH7.3...
I just downloaded Samba ver2.2.8a onto my RH server and I'm unsure on how to properly configure samba. I've seen documentation online for the older versions which contain instructions for running ./configure, make, and make install. I don't see ./configure in my samba-2.2.8a directory so I'm clueless on what to do next. Can anyone assist with this? TIA

Windows XP slow with samba-2.2.7 from RH7.3
Hi. I posted last week a question about a network with some XP PCs. One PC connects fine to the samba server, but the other one is quite slow, almost unusable. There are also Win98 hosts running fine. Someone kindly answered he had the same problem, and solved it upgrading to samba-3 beta. I can't put beta software on this server. Do I have any other option ? Here is an extract of the

samba, RH7.3 and windows NT/2K/XP problem?
Hi, We have a couple of RH7.3 systems. Both have samba installed and they were running well before. Now, one system's samba shows a problem after the system rebooting yesterday. Samba is still running and all windows 95, 98 users can access this RH7.3 system without any problem, but windows NT/2000/XP users cannot access it now. Before the rebooting, all windows (including nt/2k/xp)

Help request setting w2000 to use Lexmark z25 printer on linux RH7.3 running samba.
Hi, I am a newbie on samba. I use a vmware version which is slightly modified but I hope this group can still help. On the Linux machine I have set a Lexmark printer using Lexmark driver. This works fine but the way it works is that the filter does the actual connection to the printer (which uses USB port) whereas the lp directive is set to lp=/dev/null. Hello all, It's my birthday today, so as my present I would like everyone possible to download and test my updated set of RPMS for Asterisk 0.7.1. By popular request, I installed and built a set of RPMS for RedHat 9.0, and in the process fixed a bunch of issues from the initial build. I have also updated and will be maintaining a page on the Asterisk Wiki located at:

ulogd / ulogd packages?
I am looking for ulog-2.0.x packages and the best I have been able to find [for CentOS6] has been ulog-2.0.0 (which is not an exciting prospect for .0 reasons). Is anyone aware of ulogd packages for CentOS6 [x86_64]? Accounting using ip addresses and ulogd

Since there is windows and apple users on the network I would like to have their "computer names" instead of ip address to make for easy accounting. Does anyone know of a script or tool to get the ip address of a drop packet and turn it into a computer name (via wins or something
