Change Journals
Hi, I''ve released win32-changenotify 0.3.0 today. Take a look. Park and I have discussed a Ruby interface to change journals a little bit: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/fileio/base/creating_modifying_and_deleting_a_change_journal.asp Park, would you like to do this, or did you want me to? I wasn''t sure from your RubyForge post. Also, do

SIGINT in win32-process
Hi all, I banged my head all day trying to make SIGINT work like you would expect on Win32, to no avail. The goal is to allow the user to send a SIGINT (i.e. CTRL_C_EVENT) to a remote process. I tried a CreateRemoteThread() + GenerateConsoleCtrlEvent() approach with no luck. I also found this bit of code:

win32-ipc, with blocks (code review please)
Does this look right? The places to look are wait and wait_for_multiple (which I modified to take the class as an argument, so that I could yield). win32-taskscheduler alpha
Well, I''m going to release the first version of win32-taskscheduler today. For now, I''ve kept the API about the same as it originally was because I was spending way too much time futzing around and I wanted to get something out the door. For now, I''m calling this a BETA release, with the API subject to change. See the ''Future Plans'' section of

Calling CreateFile on an instance of File - possible?
Hi all, I''m going over win32-file this weekend. I''m creating instance methods for setting (or unsetting) the various file attributes. So, you can do something like: f = File.open("foo.txt") f.archive = true f.hidden = true f.close This works for the basic attributes, but it requires extra work for others. Specifically, I am having trouble trying to set the

open3 for windows
Hi all, The topic of creating a unified API for open3 for Windows came up at RubyConf 2004 this year. Park, I was wondering if you would mind if we modified win32_popen so that the API matches the open3 library that ships with Ruby. This also means deciding whether or not to leave in the open2, open4, and posix stuff. I guess it doesn''t hurt to leave this in, although Open3.open4

Another patch of win32-service for nice startup.
Hi, I believe this patch would be a perfect solution for a lengthy initialization application. Added hStartEvent, service_init, checkpoint increments. ============================================================ --- temp/service.c 2005-11-27 00:03:30.000000000 +0900 +++ service.c 2005-11-27 00:01:58.000000000 +0900 @@ -14,6 +14,7 @@ static VALUE cDaemonError; static VALUE rbServiceStruct,

[PATCH] ruby: Fix .new method (RHBZ#1046509).
The .new method was unintentionally broken in commit 9466060201600db47016133d80af22eb38091a49. This fixes the .new method and allows it to be called with multiple parameters, so you can use: Guestfs::Guestfs.new Guestfs::Guestfs.new() Guestfs::Guestfs.new(:close_on_exit => false) etc. For backwards compatibility, Guestfs::create may still be used. This commit also adds regression

code cleanup suggestion - error classes
Currently, most of the modules define an error class of some sort (e.g. cWin32ServiceError). Within the code, the error is raised like this: rb_raise(cWin32ServiceError,ErrorDescription(GetLastError())); It seems logical that, instead of appending the message every time, that we should simply call ErrorDescription(GetLastError()) simply by raising an error (i.e. within the

Some thoughts on win32-changenotify
Hi all, As things stand now, you can do something like this with win32-changenotify: require "win32/changenotify" include Win32 filter = ChangeNotify::FILE_NAME | ChangeNotify::DIR_NAME | ChangeNotify::LAST_WRITE cn = ChangeNotify.new("c:\\",false,filter){ puts "Something changed" } cn.wait You can pass a block that''s executed when a change occurs, but

Open3 progress
Hi all, I''ve got an initial version of Open3.popen3 checked into CVS, along with a test suite, a sample program and some of the usual files (README, etc). This is just Park''s win32_popen package stripped down and modified to match the Open3 API. So far, so good. For the first release, I''ve decided that we should strip it down to popen3 only. We can always add
