I can''t figure out how to build rspec-rails as a gem when just cloned
from github... there isn''t any .gemspec file or rake task that does
this. Any help?

Gem problem
Hi all,
I''m trying to build some gems for the Win32Utils packages, but I''m
having a problem. Below is the gemspec. Specifically, the issue seems
to be the require_path. If I set it to "lib", it sets the path
properly, but installs the .so file in the wrong place - it puts it
under lib, instead of lib/win32. However, if I specify ''lib/win32'' it

wxruby gems
Hi
Following on from some talk last year of creating gems for wxruby, I''ve
attached a first try at them (for 0.6.0, not wxruby-swig). I mainly made
them because I want to ease installation of Weft QDA by adding wxruby
(and sqlite) as gem dependencies, but hopefully they will be generally
useful.
A couple of queries:
1) Who should be listed as author?
2) It doesn''t include

offline copy of the api site ?
Hi,
Is there a archive off http://api.rubyonrails.org/ so that I can view it
without net access?
Kind Regards, Herbert

I''m running jruby trunk which has integrated rubygems 1.0.0 and when
I try and install mongrel with gem it blows up when the fastthread
dependency tries to do a native compilation.
I couldn''t find a copy of the gemspec in the svn checkout but looking
at the one installed when gem installing mongrel didn''t show any
platform differentiation. There is platform

Multi-databases support
Hi,
While I was hacking ovirt-server, I have found that it's currently
restricted to Postgres DB. Even if I like postgres for serious work on a
server, I really prefer to hack/dev locally on a Sqlite or MySQL DB.
I have googled on rails in order to find a good answer for the "foreign
key problem" which forces OVirt to stay on pg. I have found a plugin on

Invalid gemspec. How to fix this?
Hi.
I have just started out using Rails and I am getting these messages

Bad gemspec for rspec-core
I receive this message when bundling using this example project:

Build gem from .gemspec to store locally
I am getting the error uninitialized constant for the vestal_versions
gem when I build it from a gemspec file and install it.
I need to store gems locally at a client site. I am using bundle
package for most of my gems but the vestal_versions gem comes from a
git repository and I can not included in the gems stored in vendor/
cache. I am new to building a gem from a gemspec file. What do I need

.specification or .gemspec?
Hi,
I am currently working on Heroku (herokugarden.com) and pushing to the
Heroku Git repo from my local computer. I am also installing gems on
local. When I install gems locally, they generate .gemspec files in a
specification/ folder. However, when I push through to Heroku, it tells
me that I''m missing a .specification file for that gem and that I should

Wxruby2 gemspec
Hi
A gemspec for installation of wxuby-swig via rubygems. It assumes the
end-users will compile the pre-swigged .cpp files & that that the main
require file will be wx.rb (as per Kevin''s suggestion). runrake.rb is
just a helper script that runs rake correctly within the rubygems
installation process.

Patch and introduction
Hi,
I''m currently trying to get icalendar packaged and into Fedora and EPEL,
During this process I''ve noticed that you''re currently using
Gem::manage_gems
in the make Rakefile, this method was depecated in rubygems 1.3.0 them
removed in rubygems 1.3.3.
The attached patch updates the Rakefile replacing the method with the
two require calls required.

Install rubygems error
I made the mistake of trying to upgrade to 1.8.4 from 1.8.2 and had intended
to upgrade to rails 1.1. I have now completely borked my ruby gems
installation. After installing ruby I get the following error when trying to
execute gem:

win32-process 0.3.1 is out
Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know that I released 0.3.1 last night. This
addresses Bug #712 and incorporates Patches #1087 and #1137 (thanks
Aslak).
I''ll try to get an open4 implementation out this weekend, though I
noticed that Aslak''s patch is different than what Park originally had,
so I''ll have to decide which I prefer, or if they can be blended
somehow.
