Logwatch for postfix
On CentOS5 with the latest updates applied, the logwatch filter for
postfix returns way too many lines from the log. I get an "unmatched
entries" message and all messages that have gone through the system is
listed.
Here is an example:

OggPCM2 : chunked vs interleaved data
I made a few updates to OggPCM2 http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/OggPCM2
reflecting the latest discussions. Could everyone have a look at it and
see if they agree. Otherwise, what do you feel should be changed? Anyone
wants to speak in support of chunked PCM?
For all those that are just tired of this mess like me, please express
yourself in the new spec I created: OggPCM3

Code for Ambisonics
Hi,
I have posted this three times to the flac-dev,
vorbis-dev, and ogg-dev mailing lists.
I wanted to see what code there was currently
to support Ambisonics. So I downloaded the
code from the xiph download page for
libogg-1.1.3, libvorbis-1.1.2, vorbis-tools-1.1.1
and flac-1.1.4, but wasn't able to find anything.
If it exists then I missed it, so could somebody
please point me to it.

I’m not sure if it will help you but we’re seeing something similar that I call the “10 hours problem” here. On any Samba - after 4.7.6 (we’re currently trying out 4.9.4 but still no go) - at 10 hours after it (smbd & winbindd) was restarted it new connections often (but not 100% all the time, but we think it is related to the number of connections, or active connections, or how many are

Missing functionality in Blowfish for crypt(3)
The blowfish crypt(3) mechanism supports the use of a "cost value" for password encryption. The cost value is encoded into the encrypted password that is stored in master.passwd. On OpenBSD, this cost value can be set in login.conf. FreeBSD does not currently support the cost value. The cost value is the base-2 logarithm of the number of rounds of encryption to use so

FYA (for your amusement)
Well, we knew the 'Net was invented solely for cute cat pictures. Now I
have proof that selinux is part of that conspiracy. From dmesg, on one of
my servers:

Maildir permissions on creation?
The main reason is that I don't want to provide backup user with unnecessary write permissions within maildirs and mail user within backup logs dir. I was talking about mail_user:mail_group 0750 on dirs and 0640 on files. (Or, possibly, mail_user:backup_group 2750 and 2640.)

zpool import panics
Hi,
I just had my Dell R610 reboot with a kernel panic when I threw a couple
of zfs clone commands in the terminal at it.
Now, after the system had rebooted zfs will not import my pool anylonger
and instead the kernel will panic again.
I have had the same symptom on my other host, for which this one is
basically the backup, so this one is my last line if defense.
I tried to run zdb -e

subsetting
Hi,
I have a data-frame, r (column names below), that needs subsetting:
date, time, strain, gene, deltact
When I try to subset r by applying selection criteria on two columns I get
an empty data frame. For example I would like to extract all rows that have
time == 0h and strain == ROC.
So, t <- subset(r, (r$time == "0h" && r$strain == "ROC"), select= c(time,

I was under the (maybe wrong) impression that the Ogg spec already

modifying only certain rows in a data-frame
Hi,
I have a data-frame r (shown below is a subset) with the following column
names:
date time sample vct norm hct deltact
$time has 8 levels: 0h, 0.5h, .....24h. $deltact holds real numbers.
I want to subset this dataframe by the levels of $time. For all the rows
which have r$time == "0h" I would like to convert the present value of
r$deltact to 0.
Any pointers to a

untar() error
Dear List,
I have a list of 600+ *.gz files that I would like to extract and read the
geotiffs contained within them. I tried using the untar() function to
simplify this task but I am stumped by an error. I've combed the Internet
for a solution without luck. The details are below, and any help in solving
this matter is appreciated.
