Trouble demoting DC with broken replication
Hi all, I am currently struggling to remove one of our Samba4 DC from the domain. Some time ago, adding a new Samba DC to our AD did not succeed and I had to demote the new server again. After removal, replication on one of the old/existing DCs got weird. /usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool drs showrepl gives the following: Standardname-des-ersten-Standorts\dc02 DSA Options: 0x00000001 DSA object

Samba 4 migration from dead SBS 2003
Hello, I have successfully joined a SBS 2003 (SRVACMPDC01) domain with two additional Samba 4 DCs (SAMBA4PDC and SAMBA4DEDI, currently both 4.0.4-GIT-9899851). Everything worked fine: DNS / AD replication etc. The windows server was still responsible for DNS / DHCP / all FSMO roles. Now the original SBS 2003 crashed and refuses to start again (long story). In order to get a temporary workaround

Trouble with charsets on samba4
Hello I have much trouble with german umlauts. I've installed samba4 as a DC in an existing Windows Domain. The first join I made with a blank smb4.conf "samba-tool domain join DOMAIN DC -UAdministrator%Passwort --realm=DOMAIN.LOCAL --server=windows-dc.domain.local --use-ntvfs" It works fine and everything is synced. On the share we have directories and files with german umlauts.

wine-20010510 fails to run?
The system I am using is a clean install of Mandrake 8.0 which has the gcc version 2.96 installed. I downloaded the wine-20010510 snapshot and successfully ran the ./tools/wininstall. The build seems to have run without problems and if I type: wine --version the correct release number is displayed indicating the install was also succesful. As per the FAQ I also did the following:

Call center scenario
Greetings, List. I would like to implement a procedure in my call center but am not sure the best way to implement it. I'm hoping I can describe it here and that I'll receive some feedback and/or suggestions on how to proceed. Here's my situation: My call center fields calls regarding internet access issues for local apartment complexes and businesses. Most of the time, we get

call forwarding, most basic case
hello all, i need some help and after trying the wiki i'm even more confused than i was. i'm trying to set up call forwarding and running into problems... i want the most basic call forwarding imaginable. 1. caller dials extension (say, 154) 2. dialplan is updated to forward caller's extension (based on CALLERIDNUM) to voicemail, instead of ringing his endpoint. 3. caller is

Ringtones won't work
I was hoping that someone may be able to shed some light on some issues I'm having on trying to get an Asterisk test server up and running. At the moment I have the basics, two Polycom hard phones (301 & 601 with expansion unit (which oddly will not power up)) that can call each other, log into voicemail (one touch) and have custom directories & buddy lists. Unfortunately some of the

[PATCH] Password expiry merge (AIX parts)
Hi All. Attached is a patch introduces password expiry handling for AIX (other platforms to follow). It is more or less the same as the previous patch but has been updated to reflect recent changes to auth-passwd.c I'm wondering if the AIX parts of auth.c should be moved to port-aix.c and if the generic password change functions (currently at the end of auth-passwd.c) belong in a separate
