mlogit function cut off formular
I'm trying to fit a multinominal logistic model using package mlogit. I have
15 independent variables. The code looks like this:
m<-mlogit(score~0|f1+f2+f3+f4+f5+f6+f7+f8+f9+f10+f11+f12+f13+f14+f15, data,
reflevel="1")
And it gives the following error message:
Error in parse(text = x) :
unexpected ')' in "score ~ 0 + alt:(f1 + f2 + f3 + f4 + f5 + f6 + f7 + f8
+ f9

Best practices on backingup/restore VMs
I just moved from F11 to F13 and I'm find no information on the best
way to restore VMs. I had just copied /var/lib/libvirt (with the VMs
off) as part of my backup (I already backup all of /etc). But
virt-manager doesn't allow creations of VMs without installing.
Also, as a side note, the search feature on the website doesn't seem
to allow me to search using documentation only.

loops
I've been struggling to get a loop to work. I want to create a new
variable in each loop with data from some function.
for example:
# part of the names for the variables to be created
Frags <- c("F04", "F05", "F07", "F09", "F11", "F13", "F14", "F17", "F18",
"F19", "P20",

covariance matrix structure for random effect in glmmPQL
Dear all,
I'm using R function "glmmPQL" in "MASS" package for generalized linear mixed model considering the temporal correlations in random effect. There are 1825 observations in my data, in which the random effect is called "Date", and there are five levels in "Date", each repeats 365 times.
When I tried

X11 XVideo extension supported?
I was wondering if the XVideo extension is supported or not? In a
clean wine setup, I installed DivX 4.01 and The Playa, also installed
Windows Media Player 6.4. They can both display DivX 4.01 material
with sound. This is simply great :-)
However, the performance is not that great. Especially when going
fullscreen the cpu is overburdened (slide show). I assume that the
XVideo extension is not

dataframe - column value calculation in R
Dear RGroup
I have a requirement for which I am seeking help.
I am looking at automating the last column calculation through R when
having the data of the other columns as a dataframe, In excel I can do
using the formula function as given below, however, hereagain for the
number of observations that come under control, I need to write the
formula seperately for each cell and then I can block

Theora blurriness in Windows players
I just finished using my mother's PC which is running Windows XP. I

XVideo vs OpenGL
Hi, I have a Pentium III PC with NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT on an AGP 8x and
am running NVIDIA driver 9755 on CentOS 5.0 x86.
What is the most efficient playback method for the various players,
XVideo or OpenGL? RealPlayer has a "Use XVideo" tick box under the
"Hardware" tab preselected, while MPlayer uses xv - X11/Xv, gl -
X11(OpenGL) and other Video drivers. What is the most

Xvideo and X.org on Intel GMA
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hiho,
I already reported this in <455F4553.9020109@tommie-lie.de> and found
time to reinstall compiz yesterday and the problem still persists.
I have Ubuntu's X.org 7.1.1 running on a Intel GMA 950 and latest
compiz. When watching Xvideo files, the overlay window remains black. If
I slightly move the video window, the video appears with

Stumped by extlinux After OS Upgrade
Hello fellow syslinux/extlinux users! Please forgive the long post, but I
believe my problem warrants the background info to understand the issue.
I've developed a specialized spin of Fedora that runs off CompactFlash.
The spin is actually produced by the livecd-tools package and is then
transferred to the CF card -- which has been formatted with ext3 -- using

Problems with graphical devices, e.g., png(), pdf(): blurry graphical output
On my current home system, I am getting undesirable output from
graphical devices such as png() and pdf(). The graphical output is
blurry. I haven't experienced the problem on other systems. As you
will see from the attached text file (more information on this file
below), the problem does not occur when type='Xlib' is forced. The
blurriness is more severe with bitmap output (yes, I am

Freezing Rails in ovirt-server...
The ovirt-server package has started to slip behind the curve WRT Ruby
on Rails development; i.e., the current version of ovirt-server is not
quite runnable as is on F12. And with F13 coming, the gap's only going
to widen.
So I'm considering the idea of freezing the version of Rails on the
ovirt-server project for the time being. I'll check with the Fedora
packaging team to see if

Proposals for making configure_from_network function works in f13
Hi
I am running a pxe diskless node in f13 and I have some proposals to make
ovirt-early working in this version.
nash is no more available (nash/mkinitrd is replaced by dracut), so this
following command fails :
"echo "network --device $DEVICE --bootproto dhcp" | nash"
it makes the network configuration incomplete. I replace the linuxrc command by
dhclient and it's
