Remove/deactivate the session and language buttons in login screen
Hi All,
I'm using centOS 6.4 with openbox as windows manager. I modified
/etc/X11/xinit/Xsession file in orden to set up openbox as default
windows manager for all users (I changed gnome-session to openbox-session).
Now, I would like to remove or deactivate the the session and language
button in login screen. I tried to find these using gconf-editor but
without any luck. I could change the

module-init-tools ported to klibc
Halo,
I don't know if this is already done but the following two patches (one
for klibc) and a big one (several smaller incorporated to one) to
modules-init-tools enables running modprobe and friends in early user space.
There are some issues so I post here for discussion
The porting strategy was copied from the udev package. I make a file

2nd dvi connector on fx 380 not working, channel configuration problem ?
Hi,
I've been debugging the problem of the 2nd dvi connector on fx 380
cards not working.
I wanted to diff a dump of the pdisplay block registers under nouveau
and the binary nvidia driver, but when running nvapeek under nvidia
I get: a "WARN: Can't probe ..." error because of
pci_device_map_range() failing, is there a way around this.
I did learn something interesting though.

Hi Lukas,
Sorry for the delay, I finally found some time to reviewd and test the
patches and found some issues (some of them might already be present in
v4.15 without your patches though, I did not try).
Test environment:
- Branch switcheroo_devlink_v2 (commit v4.15-20-gb33d50c5c6ad)
- Laptop: Clevo P651RA (nouveau uses PR3), lspci:

I am writing a FS filter that will be above the ext3 filesystem.
For my own purposes I need severl bytes in inode. There are not enough space

TDM10B - Dies after a few hours
I've been having trouble with a TDM10B that I installed a few days ago.
At first I could not modprobe it at all (getting the errors below). I
switched the X100P that was also installed (with a Motorola chip) with one
with a Tiger-something chip, and then everything starts up okay.
However, after a few hours, the FXS port dies (no battery or anything),

CentOS 6.2 KDE desktop with KDM - need guidance
I want a CentOS 62 (amd64) KDE desktop with KDM as the GUI login manager.
My system environment is as follows:
Host OS: openSUSE 11.4 .(amd64) with VirtualBox (64 bit)
GuestOS: CentOS 6.2 (amd64) 10GB virtual disk
I chose the "Customize Now" option in the installer and chose "KDE"
group w/o the "Desktop" group. The system boots to a CLI console. I

ext3 bug?
Hi,
I have a severe filesystem crash on a machine with a single ext3 filesystem.
It is the second time that this happens to me (on two different machines that
are identical in hardware setup and mostly in software - I cloned them when
I started to work).
It looks like the journal (or something else, i am not an expert here) has
gone wild and overwritten loads of inodes. I have a single filesys

prefdm still unfinished?
After testing the beta of CentOS 5, i was a little surprised to notice that
the display manager part of the prefdm file in /etc/X11 was exactly like in
CentOS 4 / RHEL4 and previous versions including RH9.
it reads like this (added line numbers for reference):
14 # Run preferred X display manager
15 preferred=
16 if [ -f /etc/sysconfig/desktop ]; then

Window isn't readrawn after beeing in background
Hi,
I've already made a bug out of this: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25160 but it seems only to happen for me.
I've asked others, e.g. the other test-result-submitter for Black Prophecy, no one has the same problem. So I think it's somehow related to my own wine-settings.
I'm using gentoo with openbox and wine-1.3.7, the following configure:

why kdm crashes
We have a pretty standard installation of CentOS 6.4 on our
workstations. We've been running into issues where kdm crashes every
once in a while when someone tries to log in on the console. The only
way to recover when it happens seems to be to restart kdm (kill -HUP
`pgrep -f /usr/bin/kdm`) (or reboot of course) and it never seems to
happen twice in a row. I am not sure where to start

X taking 100 % cpu on Xen dom0
Hi,
I am trying to get X to work on Xen Dom0 running a custom 3.4.10 kernel. with a Nvidia Gt220 card + 295.59 drivers.Although, the drivers get loaded and X starts, but after some time its seems to get stuck in some kind of infinite loop and starts taking up 100 % cpu. This is observed only when i boot up the machine with the Xen hypervisor, otherwise X works well with out the hypervisor being

ztcfg problems
Hello, I'm running Fedora Core 3 with udev, and asterisk/zaptel/libpri
from cvs. I have followed the README.udev instructions replacing insmod
with modprobe and rmmod with modprobe -r and adding the 60-zaptel.rules
file, yet no matter what I do I still get this error on boot(or when I
run service zaptel restart):
[root@pbx ~]# /etc/init.d/zaptel restart

KDE login screen configuration problems
Sorry to be so slow in responding. I've done what you suggested. I created
/etc/sysconfig/desktop
and entered "$DISPLAYMANAGER=KDM". I rebooted but there was no change. GDM is still being used.
Any other suggestions?

========================
Just create the file /etc/sysconfig/desktop and put in it:
DESKTOP=KDM
I believe it's DESKTOP - you can dbl check /etc/X11/prefdm
