I see no problem with your nvidia temps But, i have seen
this exact behavior when 'indirect rendering' is enabled.

Compiz Release Announcement - 0.8.10
Hi all, I finally got around to producing an 0.8.10 release. Here are the
details, which are also posted on my blog <http://blog.northfield.ws>.
It took a bit of setup and cook time but compiz 0.8.10 tarballs are ready
now including addons-experimental plugin package. Anyone who has installed
compiz before knows it can be confusing so here, I will focus on installing
0.8.10 using the

8.2 behaving weird on openSuSE 10.3 & 11.0
Listmates,
I installed 8.2 on opensuse 10.3 from the opensuse XGL repository to replace
7.6. Compiz works with the nvidia 8600 GT card (512M of GDDR3) on the box, but
the ctrl+alt <- -> switching behavior is really bad.
In 7.6, the ctrl+alt <- -> desktop switching changed desktops crisply with
just the slightest hint of the cube detected during the very short and nice
switch.

More clear CCSM messages
Hello,
Would it be possible to have someone knowledgeable about the inner working
of Compiz to change the messages CCSM uses (which can be found
here<http://gitweb.opencompositing.org/?p=compiz;a=blob;f=metadata/core.xml.in;h=8fa18ab503a4c245a6f77582706d29bbbb654cc5;hb=HEAD>)
to be understandable to us not really technical people?
One example would be the 'Sync To VBlank' option. I

Annoying gconf/ccsm behavior
Fedora 10 ships with compiz and launches it as: compiz
--ignore-desktop-hints glib gconf
This causes compiz to load the glib and gconf plugins at startup. This
works fine.
The problem arises when the gconf database does not include those
plugins in /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins. What
happens is that the plugins get loaded at startup, and after all the

Contributor Contributions
I have made claims that I have not left the compiz project and that I have
been maintaining it over the past 4 years, despite the lack of releases by
not fault but my own. At the request of some of the original compiz
developers, I am now posting a compilation of some of the contributions
I've made over time, since the beginning. Since the most important
contributions are code and easiest to

Keybindings trouble
I'm using the latest compiz-git (along with compcomm patches & ccsm)
and I'm having troubles with some keybindings. It seems that compiz is
somehow intercepting any shortcuts that I try to use that are Control
+Alt+*OTHER*. For example, I have set in my xfce keyboard settings to
lock the screen on Control+Alt+l, it works fine with xfwm4 and the last
version of beryl, but it only

Altering Window Decoration
This may seem rather obvious, but how do I alter the window
decorations, such as making the titlebar opaque, and changing it's
colour? In CCSM -> Window Decoration -> Command I have set emerald, as
I use KDE (on Ubuntu). The CCSM- > Window Decoration screen does not
have an option for changing titlebar opacity or colour. The Emerald
Theme Manager doesn't seem to be able to change

Protocol Buffers in Compiz and libcompizconfig
Hi,
We're planning to use Protocol Buffers (Google's data interchange
format: http://code.google.com/apis/protocolbuffers/ ) in a future
version of Compiz and libcompizconfig to speed up metadata parsing,
which currently makes up more than 75% of the start-up time for Compiz
according to Valgrind. Preliminary work in this direction has shown
promising results.
We'll be adding

Compiz 8.6 on openSuSE 11.0 -- Success! But need help with a few issues.
Dominique, cc: compiz,
Dominique, you wanted the feedback, and List, I need your help. I have
installed and fully configured (kicked the tires) on compiz 8.6 on openSuSE 11.0
and on balance it is great. There are a few weird things going on. Most notably,
the number of options in ccsm that now uncheck themselves. In the past (compiz
0.5.6 - 0.8.2) there may have been one or two that would stick

Aurorae for Compiz
Hi Compiz Devs,
as you might know I started about a year ago to implement a new theme engine
for KWin called Aurorae. It is a SVG/Pixmap based engine. The theme format is
SVG as soon as the SVG get's resized a pixmap is created and put into KDE's
pixmap cache. This makes painting very fast while resizing kind of slow (not
an issue with KWin as resizing is already slow ;-)), but at

OSD Mystery
I recently started using compiz-fusion. After spending months looking
at an anemic little rectangular on-screen volume control when I use
the volume buttons on my ubuntu thinkpad T60p, all of a sudden I
noticed that I was getting a nice, big, robust rounded-corner display
(somewhat mac-like). Now it's gone again.
I really have no clue whether this came from compiz-fusion, emerald, a
plugin,

grid's viewports
Hello!
There is something wrong with nested viewports in grid package (I have
tested it in R-1.8.0, may be it is different in other versions). Here is
an simple example of a feature which seems strange to me:
x11()
rec<-T
push.viewport(viewport(xscale=c(-10,10),yscale=c(-10,10),gp=gpar(col="magenta")),recording=rec)

Two patches for Snap
Hi,
There are a couple of problems with Snapping Windows that I tried to fix:
(1) The snap to windows checkbox in ccsm has no effect because Snap treats
any window with struts as an edge, and all windows have struts. I think it
should be a test for dock windows.
(2) Windows don't snap to the left edge because it has been erased. The
right edge doesn't seem to get erased because it is

[ANNOUNCE] xf86-video-intel 2.21.3
Release 2.21.3 (2013-02-20)

A few minor bugfixes, another point release.
* Fix tracking of DRI pixmaps and their backing bo across reparenting. If
we tried to execute a SwapBuffers after a Window was reparented, but
before the DRI client has updated its references, then we would end up
manipulating an exported pixmap without a flush flag set. In the worst

"Unredirect Fullscreen Windows" instead of disabling Compiz?
It's common knowledge that disabling desktop effects (or
disabling compiz) helps game performance in wine.
Somebody mentioned that the Unredirect Fullscreen Windows
compiz option (see http://wiki.compiz.org/GeneralOptions ),
settable via ccsm aka compizconfig-settings-manager
fixes performance problems just as well as disabling
compiz does.
I hadn't heard of that before. I never run
