[PATCH] plugin conflict between Minimize & Animation: add feature "windowanimations"
Hi,
The minimize plugin conflicts with Animation. For example, it doesn't
let Animation draw shade animations, and interferes with other window
event animations. The animation plugin now minimizes the relevant
effects to taskbar, so using the two plugins together doesn't make
sense anymore. Moreover, by default Animation is off, Minimize is on,
and when users enable Animation, naturally

[PATCH] plugin conflict resolution between Fade & Animation
Hi,
Having the minimize_open_close option in Fade wasn't enough for
conflict resolution with Animation, since it was on by default. This
makes sense since the Minimize plugin is used by default, which is a
lightweight animation provider that some people/distributions might
prefer over Animation. And nobody really needs to know that this
option resolves the conflict. So here is a better method

Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz enabled
On a Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400 with the ATI x1400 video card running
the fglrx driver on Kubuntu 8.04, I have some video problems while
running Compiz. I am not using XGL, in fact, I removed it from the
system as it was causing performance issues. The symptoms I describe
here were present before removing XGL, as well as after.
The test applet on java.com flashes (as if it disappears between

Tried out Beryl (Animation pugin)
Hi
I just tried out the new 0.1.0 release of beryl. Generally I do like the
compiz fdo version, because I like the gconf integration and the
metacity theme support in gwd. Also I think their configuration system
is a complete mess, this beryl settings manager is completly bloated in
my opinion.
Anyway, I noticed they have quite a lot of plugins. While I found most
of them nothing special, the

[PATCH] Fade vs. Animation conflict resolution
Hi,
Here is a simple patch that adds an option to the Fade plugin to
enable/disable fading on minimize/open/close window events. This
option is on by default but can be disabled to avoid conflicts with
the Animation plugin. Fading on other stuff (fade during nonresponding
app. desaturation, during switcher, and visual bell) shouldn't be
affected (which is the main point of this patch).

. Re: Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz
Dear Dotan,
The problem of flashing/flickering in 3D apps/ videos
with Xv enabled on account of non-redirection is limited to AIGLX and not an
issue at all with XGL and compiz. fglrx till date has many mem leaks and
crappy 3d performance on linux especially with compiz enabled. If you want
to use these apps with compiz, for now use XGL. Else just disable compiz
temporarily when

Generating mp3s from lattice-made pdfs with animation package
I have generated a multi-page pdf with lattice. Now I want to make an mpeg3 file animation from it. I have been experimenting with the 'animation' package. The saveM ovie function will create an mp3 file, but it is not clear if it will take a pdf as the 'expr' that generates animations.
Suggestions about use of the animation package, or other ways to animate lattice output in

Two patches for Snap
Hi,
There are a couple of problems with Snapping Windows that I tried to fix:
(1) The snap to windows checkbox in ccsm has no effect because Snap treats
any window with struts as an edge, and all windows have struts. I think it
should be a test for dock windows.
(2) Windows don't snap to the left edge because it has been erased. The
right edge doesn't seem to get erased because it is
