Problems adding a NTSp6a machine to a SAMBA PDC Domain + LDAP: sambaPrimaryGroupSID
Hello everybody
I have configure a Samba PDC machine, using LDAP as password backend.
The scripts smbldap-tools are used to create the accounts in the
LDAP. I can add Windows XP machines to the domain without problems.
But today, I tried to add a Windows NT Server SP6a machine to the
domain, and there is the next error:

Samba 3.0.24 handling LDAP responses incorrectly
Hey list,
Recently I've gotten my Samba PDC to successfully use an OpenLDAP
backend, while using the smbk5pwd and ppolicy overlays for OpenLDAP.
However, Samba appears to incorrectly handle responses from LDAP's
ppolicy overlay, even though it very clearly receives them. If I enter
in a password (be it through Ctrl+Alt+Delete or when a password expires
and the user is prompted at logon)

Problem using smbldap-groupadd / net group add
Hello,
I've got a problem using ldap support on my Ubuntu jaunty.
Here are the versions :
samba/jaunty uptodate 2:3.3.2-1ubuntu3.2
smbldap-tools/jaunty uptodate 0.9.4-1
First of all, smbldap-groupadd don't use the sambaNextRid to create a
group, it compute it. Is this a normal way ?
I've patch smbldap-groupadd to do this :
- #$group_rid = 2*$_groupGidNumber+1001;

Cluster: node to node switching
Hi *,
I use samba 3.2.3 actually and have problems to switch between two nodes
in a cluster in an active directory environment. I know of CTDB but I
want to keep it simple and so I use a shared folder for the .tdb files.
But it does not work since samba 3.2 anymore. After switching from one
node to another I have to delete the .tdb files and join again to the
domain to have access to samba.

Error changing password
After a long battle with the having the password hash types that samba
sets in LDAP being incompatibile with anything else that I wanted to do
I finally have the idealx tools set to give me crypt passwords. Now
however I'm running into the familiar "You don't have permission to
change your password" problem, but the passwords are actually set

3.0.7/LDAP/referrals...
AIX 5.2 OpenLDAP 2.2.15 Samba 3.0.7 (no winbindd)
I've got a stupid problem with referrals that I can't seem to ferret out.
Each Samba DC has a localhost-based LDAP replica for scalability (my
idea anyway). So the only way they will talk to the Master is if there is
need for an update. Ok.
If I make the updatedn the same as the rootdn of the replica, it updates
the local database;

ldap passwd sync only

I have exactly the same trouble as described here:
http://www.nabble.com/ldap-passwd-sync-on-3.0.25a-tf4261008.html on
samba-3.0.25b-2.fc7.
When i set "ldap passwd
sync" to "only" and I change password on some ldap samba
user, password in attribute userPassword is never changed by samba daemon
(to update NT and LM password I use smbk5pwd overlay). If i set pwd

BDC constantly rebinds to master ldap server causing browsing delay
Hello,
I seem to be having an issue where one of my BDC servers constantly needs
to rebind to the "master" ldap server (ldap1.ae-solutions.com). Whenever
this happens I see several entries in the log like this:
"smbldap_search_ext: waiting 928 milliseconds for LDAP replication."
It appears to cause delay when browsing samba shares whenever this
happens. The master

samba bad password count reset between logins (not loaded from login_cache.tdb)
I recently migrated our samba PDC to an LDAP backend on a test machine.
Testing my account policies, I found out that the password lockout did not
work.
When authentication fail, samba seems to call init_ldap_from_sam asking to
update the bad password count.
When I set the lockout threshold to 1, the account is locked after a failed
attempt and the badPasswordCount attribute is updated correctly
