SR-IOV: no traffic isolation between VFs with Broadcom 10Gbps cards
Hi all,
I'm testing on debian/unstable SR-IOV feature with Broadcom BCM57810
cards and KVM hypervisor:
Compiled against library: libvirt 1.2.1
Using library: libvirt 1.2.1
Using API: QEMU 1.2.1
Running hypervisor: QEMU 1.7.0
bnx2x
-> firmware 7.8.17
-> driver from kernel 3.12.7
8 VFs are created on the first PF. For each VF, a specific mac address
is set manually using "ip

Rhel7 snap6 -- SR-IOV
Hi,
This is regarding SRIOV in Rhel7. I have added intel_iommu=on in grub.cfg file. When I attach Virtual Function to VM and I try to poweron the VM, I get the below error:
[root@Dell-Rhel7 ~]# virsh start rhel64x64GA
error: Failed to start domain rhel64x64GA

virtio nic dosent use 10gbe speed.
Hello all.
We are moving from Xenserver 6.5 environment to KVM because we can't use
10gbe speed in our VM's so we decided to test KVM.
To inicial test I've create script, using qemu commands, to build two VM's
and test the nic speed.
Each VM has one nic, using virtio, into it own bridge. In this bridge we
associate one 10gbe physical nic.
They can communicate each other.

How to find out if the installed NIC supports SR-IOV?
Hi,
I am working with a westemere based server. I need to find out if the NIC
installed there supports SR-IOV - what would be the best way to determine
that?

Kashyap

SR-IOV vs nPAR
Hi,
(Already asked this on the intel wired forum: http://communities.intel.com/message/185413#185413 but some of those questiones are XEN specific, which might be why theres no response ;-)
I have doubts if SR-IOV will provide the required features compared to nPAR.
SR-IOV seems more flexible, but I''m not sure if performance and features are the same as nPAR.
Servers will be Dell M620

How to pass messages from dom0 to domU??
I apologize if this is a newbie question, but I have been unable to work out
how to do this.
I am adding code to my installation on dom0 (running CentOS 5.3) to monitor
for hardware faults. If there is an issue, I want to propagate the status
to all of the domUs (running CentOS 4.x or CentOS 5) running on the host.
What are my options to do this??
Thanks!

loadings matrices in plsr vs pcr in pls pacakage
Dear list,
I have a question concerning the above mentioned methods in the pls
package with respect to the loadings matrix produced by the call. In
some work I am doing I have found that the values produced are nearly of
the same magnitude but of opposite sign. When I use the example data
(sensory) I find this result reproduced. I am prepared to work this
through but I have a feeling that

IOV / SR-IOV / MR-IOV for non-network hardware?
I've been looking for real-world examples of this for a long time --
mainly because I'm trying to decide whether to restrict my build-options
to using only components which are all compatible with IOV.
I'm thinking that the constraint would be worth it,
if IOV could provide a significant performance benefit for non-network
peripherals such as storage, video processing, etc. (compared

Broadcom NIC Binding under Centos 4.2
Hello all,
I'm having unusual difficulty configuring teaming with Centos 4.2.
The 2 NIC's are Broadcom. The HW is HP DL360 and there is no teaming
driver for RHEL4 since it comes with package (says HP).
Since there is no teaming driver from centos (as far as I know), I tried
the Broadcom Driver, configured the team file, but the team just wont
come up. A Virtual Interface should be up

Can I bridge a bonded and vlan tagged interface directly to a guest?
I am running CentOS 5.3 x86_64 as my dom0 and CentOS 5.3 on my domU's. On
the dom0, I have two interfaces that are bonded and have tagged VLANs. I
can get the networks to the domU's by creating a bridge for each of the
VLANS (bond0.3, bond0.4, etc). On the domU, the interfaces show up as
eth0, eth1, etc.
Is there a way to set up the network on the dom0 so my domU's see a single

Greetings,
Patches to support Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) capability are available for the Linux 2.6 development tree.
KVM and Xen supports will come soon!

problems with xen and sr-iov/iommu
Hi all,
I''ve fetched the xen 4.0.1 source from the usual spot and have git''d the
stable dom0 source (recently) from the jeremy repository, have
successfully built and installed each of these on my VT-x and VT-d
capable x86_64 system, over a fedora 14 installation. Most of the
features seem to be running just fine, but I''m having a real problem

Problem passing an SR-IOV function to a PV domU
I have an intel 82576GB SR-IOV network card, and I''m trying to pass a function through to a PV domU.
Things seem to be going right, but the function I pass through never shows up in an lspci on the domU.
I''m successfully hiding the function in dom0, and it shows up in "xm pci-list-assignable-devices"
I''ve tried assigning the function to my domU using both the
