Dear all, I open a bmp device by the bmp() function in the png package, but I don't know how to write color pixel by pixel into the file? Any help or hint? What I want to do is to create a 512*512 bmp file with certain dots being red and others black. I have all the pixel coordinates for the red dots, but I don't know how to draw the color on the device. Please help

Dear R-help I want to display an image file in a new plot frame. SVG is my preferred format, but I can also consider PNG, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, and PPM (from ImageMagick). When I save a particular plot as JPG or BMP, the saved image is an accurate copy of that plot. But when I save the same plot as EPS or PDF, some text elements are incorrectly altered. An example is attached. Notice in the top middle and top right panels, the x-axis labels have correct subscript 1 in the JPG, but incorrect subscript 2 in the EPS. I'm using R 2.13.0 on Windows 7. A few weeks ago I have updated R-1.1.1 for Windows with the fixed R.dll (Rdll2010.zip) for Win2k from CRAN. (I have used the same version of R from WinNT4 *and* Win2k for some time.)
