Samba as AD controller and local auth
Hello all, I have been breaking my head about this for several days now - what seems to be something “easy” to do (or at least I suppose others would also encounter this problem) simply does not work: I am running a Samba Active Directory Domain Controller on my Synology NAS. Since I installed and set up the AD DC, local user authentication for shares is not working anymore. Before: Simple Samba

Share-based security
Hello guys, I am using Samba version 3.5.6~dfsg-3squeeze6 and it is running very well with winbind authentication on our internal network. Now I want to expose one share and one printer to another network (192.168.2.0/24), so now this server is configured with two NICs. My smb.conf is as follows: [global] workgroup = GALILEU-F realm = GALILEU-F.GALILEU.PT server string =

NUT driver scheduler
Dear nut-upsdev, I writed one small function to test if batteries was really bad (using solis driver). Isn't so acurated but it's what we need. Just wait 100% batteries charge, turn off input, wait some time (10% from previst autonomy) and turn on input again. Looking startAutonomy - stopAutonomy we can know the basic batteries state. To scheduler the tests I have one new parameter on

Bug#725082: libxen-dev: missing libraries
Package: libxen-dev Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u1 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, I want to make some fine monitoring of my xen machines and the xentop utility does not exactly fits my needs I saw in the sources that it uses some kind of library named libxenstat wich seems very acurate. This library is already built to make the xentop utility but the debian package does not makes it available as

Realtime, 2 server setup problem?
All, we're running realtime and ast 1.2.7.1 stable. The problem I'm having is when you register a SIP device on ServerA, works fine, sip show peer works fine. When you dial the SIP device from ServerB however, it tries to dial, even does a MySQL query like it should but comes back saying no route to dest. When I do a 'sip show peer ..' on ServerB, the peer comes back fine, it even

Spearman's rank correlation test (PR#13574)
Full_Name: Petr Savicky Version: 2.7.2, 2.8.1, 2.9.0 OS: Linux Submission from: (NULL) (147.231.6.9) The p-value of Spearman's rank correlation test is calculated in cor.test(x, y, method="spearman") using algorithm AS 89. However, the way how AS 89 is used incures error, which may be an order of magnitude larger than the error of the original algorithm. The paper, which

samba4 readiness
i wanted to setup a samba4 domain, however i had a couple of questions: 1. i was thinking of using centos, however was curious what linux distro most people use. ie what most of the samba4 documentation is written for? 2. i had read that there isn't much support for user land programs for setting up samba4 and account administration, and that swat isn't emplimented yet; how dated / acurate

joint multichannel coding (long message)
I've got an idea for joint multichannel coding. Here is my idea: My idea is a process for coding 2,3,4 or 5 combined channels, in a compatible way for decoders unable to deal with combined channels. part1: All channels to be coded are summed, each one effected by a coefficient related to its sound power importance for the listener. The sum of all channels is devided by the square root of the

Scrubbing a zpool built on LUNs
I''m building a system with two Apple RAIDs attached. I have hardware RAID5 configured so no RAIDZ or RAIDZ2, just a basic zpool pointing at the four LUNs representing the four RAID controllers. For on-going maintenance, will a zpool scrub be of any benefit? From what I''ve read with this layer of abstration ZFS is only maintaining the metadata and not the actual data on the

I figured it out!!
If you do not put a context in the beginning of the sip.conf file, the default is, ta da, default in extensions.conf. Putting a context=testof idea in sip.conf got things moving: sip.conf [general] port=5060 bindaddr=0.0.0.0 ;10.8.0.34 *context=testofidea* srvlookup=yes disallow=all ;read somewhere you have to disallow everything first allow=ulaw allow=alaw allow=gsm dtmfmode=rfc2833 ;;

MixMonitor - garbled/corrupted WAV files
Hi, I've had problems with MixMonitor recordings. A lot (I'd say almost 50%) of those are corrupted (can`t be opened) or garbled. That is on only one server, which is using the same Asterisk version (1.6.2.18) as the other servers which are mostly fine. What can be the cause? The conversation themselves are reportedly of good quality, only the recording is a problem. Hint:

[LLVMdev] Problems linking shared library with __declspec(dllexport)
Hi all, I am trying to use llvm-gcc to link shared libraries on windows/mingw32. When I try to link libraries that contain functions declared with __declspec(dllexport) someFunction(); I get the link error: Cannot export _someFunction: symbol not found Removing the declspec directive solves the problem, but this is not a very feasible solution for me. Using 'regular' gcc does not
