CFT: FreeBSD Package Base
With CFT version you chose to build, and package individual components such as sendmail with a port option. That does entirely solve the problem of being able to reinstall sendmail after the fact without a rebuild of the userland (base) port but perhaps base flavors could solve that problem assuming flavors could extend beyond python. CFT: FreeBSD Package Base
FreeBSD Community, I'm pleased to announce a CFT for builds of FreeBSD 12-stable and 13-current using "TrueOS-inspired" packaged base. These are stock FreeBSD images which will allow users to perform all updating via the 'pkg' command directly. Rather than trying to answer all questions in this announcement, we've created a FAQ page with more details. Please refer to

cft 0.2.0
I am pleased to announce the release of cft-0.2.0; the major new feature in this release is that cft now tracks package operations, so that things like yum -y install httpd rpm -e evolution will be reflected in the generated manifest. Details and downloads can be found at http://cft.et.redhat.com/ RPM''s for Fedora and RHEL are available at http://people.redhat.com/dlutter/yum

Gnome's profiles tool?
Hi all, I'm looking for a tool to create and manage the users' profiles in GNOME desktop environment. I've searched Pessulus (included in GNOME admin tools by default according GNOME docs) whitout success. I've tried to compile Sabayon (the CentOS rpm is not avaiable I think) but there are a lot of dependencies to resolve. ?Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -- Jordi Espasa

RE: [PATCH] smbfs readdir fix (CFT: NetApp, OS/2)

I installed the following patches with the sequence vs. the kerner 2.4.18: 1. 00-smbfs-2.4.18-codepage.patch.gz 2. 01-smbfs-2.4.18-lfs.patch.gz 3. 02-smbfs-2.4.18-unicode.patch.gz 4. smbfs-2.4.19-pre9-readdir.patch After installed patches, I ran 'make modules' and so on. Any more

Can only print to the default printer
I am not sure if I am experiencing a WINE bug (I have looked through the bug reports but can't see this particular problem mentioned) or if this is a current limitation of WINE... I am using 64-bit Sabayon Linux (multilib) 2.6.36-sabayon kernel with CUPS 1.4.4-r2 and 32-bit WINE 1.3.4. I have several printers configured in CUPS. With native Linux applications I can select from each

Aion 2.5.0.x on Sabayon 6
Guys I'm making this post because the wine tests details section get truncated but most of it was for Sabayon users: ---- -What Works- PvE, PvP, menu's etc... I was getting pretty good frames too depending on where and what I was doing between 30-90FPS I would say average PvE around 70FPS and in cities with PvP between 30-60FPS. extlinux graphical menu with function keys
Hi all, I have a question regarding the syslinux menu as used on the Ubuntu, Sabayon, ... live CD's. According to the syslinux documentation the function keys can be used to display a help file, but in the menu of these live distros the function keys are used to pick the resolution, language and keyboard. I would like to bind a submenu to these function keys. Is this possible and how can

Sabayon hvm domU problems: the Windows Manager doesn't start
Hello, I set up a Sabayon Linux domU as hvm guest and I completed the installation successfully. The problem is that when KDE is going to start, I see a blank screen. I use vncviewer but I don''t think this problem is related to vnc. Then I''ve read the minimal system requirements and I have seen this: 1) i686 Processor (starting from AMD K6 and Intel Pentium II) 2) 512 MB of RAM

rsync --delete isn't deleting files
I had this working on an older version, since 2.6.9 that when I set --delete and --dry-run, I get no "Deleting ******" lines. Also, the --delete-before never worked for me. Working on a space constrained mirror, this has proven very handy, when it works. What's up with the new versions? I haven't changed a thing. Best regards, Tiago Marques

Building a System.
So, people have recommended building a system from scratch, start with a CentOS base and installing asterisk and all of the other utilities. I've only used Trixbox for my business system. I'm wondering what surprises I'd run into. Right now, I know I'd need the OS, Asterisk, something like FreePBX, I have a x100p card so I'd need Zaptel, does that come with asterisk?

How to run a Paradox Game (Victoria/HoI2: Doomsday)

Major problem with any 3D game.
Hi, I'm having some very nasty problem. Wine works perfectly with normal applications, but when I try to open a game, it does something like this : http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/401/img1388tj7.jpg I have an ATI Mobility X1400 video card with driver version 8.522 (fglrx) I have 3D acceleration on as compiz does work. Wine does this with compiz on/off so it's not because of it. If

OpenVZ variant
Greetings, I was reading the LWN article from today (free to non-subscribers next Thursday). Here's a subscriber link for those who might want to see it now: CentOS and Red Hat - http://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/592723/485ea802859f6c36/ I saw that Xen was mentioned as an area where CentOS went beyond RHEL with CentOS 6... and being that I'm deeply in the OpenVZ community, I thought it
