FOSDEM: Lodging and presentations
Hi all,
Since it looks like I''ll be attending FOSDEM, I now need to find some
lodging, and if possible I''d like to line up a presentation or four.
Someone in the community offered to let me crash with them if I came
to the conference (someone with the nick of ''robk'' on IRC, I think),
so I''d like to take that person up on it if possible.

FOSDEM?
Hi all,
A couple of people are trying to convince me to come to FOSDEM in
Belgium at the end of February. I''m a bit hesitant because I''ve been
doing so much travel, but LinuxConf.au was a great experience and
seems to have really helped get exposure to Puppet. There seems to
be a pretty strong European contingent of Puppet users, and it''d be
great to meet

ANNOUNCE: Puppet 0.22.2 (grover)
Hi all,
I''m proud to announce that I seem to have pushed a new release of
Puppet out in record time. This is a minor upgrade, mostly bugfixes
and small features, but there are lots of each. See the changelog[1]
for an idea of what this release provides, but keep in mind that this
changelog is my first real attempt at keeping an up-to-date changelog.
Enjoy!

In Europe for the next week
Hi all,
As most probably know by now, I''ll be in London and Brussels for the
next week, starting Tuesday (well, I leave Tuesday but don''t arrive
until Wednesday). That means I''ll hopefully get to meet more of you
(I''m giving talks in London Thursday night and in Brussels, probably
on Sunday morning), but it also means I''ll have limited access

FOSDEM 2008
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone is going to FOSDEM 2008 this year. I know Luke
can''t come (which is his loss, more beer for me :P) but that doesn''t mean we
can''t have a little meetup amongst puppeteers! Just to see some faces behind
the nicks and emailaddresses and the like.
Like last year, I''m planning on only visiting one day, probably the Sunday.
Anyone

Puppet and Mongrel
I''ve written a short how-to on using Mongrel with Puppet:
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/UsingMongrel
This is not yet tested for accuracy, but if you''re interested in
trying it, please do. I''d like to turn this into a complete guide on
how to do so, along with better reasons for doing it (or for not
doing it).

ANNOUNCE: Puppet 0.20.0
Hi all,
I''m happy to announce that Puppet''s latest release is out now.
This release provides a mostly refactored interpreter, which provides
two key language features.
First and foremost, we now have virtual resources[1], which allows you
to specify resources in one part of your configuration and mark them to
be sent to your client in another.
Second, resource overrides

Puppet Cookbook
Hi all,
I haven''t done much with it so far, but I now have an instance of
MoinMoin up as a cookbook:
https://reductivelabs.com/cookbook/
It''s available over http or https, whichever you prefer.
I''m going to do what I can to start adding cookbook recipes and I''d
appreciate it if others would do the same. I also could help keeping
the cookbook running well --

Japanese Puppet users
Hi all,
I''ve been trying to monitor the traffic on the web site recently, and
it seems like we''ve got a couple of Japanese Puppet users I didn''t
know about. I''ve seen articles about Puppet on both madoro.org[1]
and mizzy.org[2] recently.
I haven''t looked into translations of Puppet''s documentation much,
but this might be a good place

Switching to Google Groups tomorrow night
Hi all,
Is everyone switched over to the Google lists?
I''m basically ready for the switch, I think, and doing so would be one
more closed loop for me.
I notice we''ve only got a bit over 300 subscribers to the Puppet Users
list, while my madstop list has nearly 600. This is a bit depressing,
but it probably represents a better idea of who''s actually using the

Re: How to conditionally run defines? (and a question about updating... )
OK, too bad. I could work around it of course by adding ''unless'' and
''creates'' clauses on all the individual parts of the define where
appropriate, but I think I''ll just ignore the warnings and overhead for now.
It would be cool, though, if something like the ''unless'', ''onlyif'', etc,
logic was available for all

ANNOUNCE: Puppet 0.22.3

I''m in the process of publishing a very small update release to

Fixed the authoconfig parameter so it is always defined.
