7.0-stable: a hung process - scheduler bug?
Hello! I was trying to build OpenOffice using all of my 4 CPUs. To be able to do other work on the machine comfortably, I ran the build under nice, and assigned real-time priority to the two Xorg processes. The build started at about 23:10 last night, and hung at 23:46. The procstat output for the make's process group is: PID PPID PGID SID TSID THR LOGIN WCHAN EMUL

7.0 issues fixed? upgrade timing?
1. I have a realtek network card and am using a cable modem router. Does anyone know if fixes for problems with these (see below) have been backported from HEAD to RELENG_7? 2. Is this a good time to upgrade to RELENG_7? 3. I read a post last week that advised that 7.1 is a long way off. Appreciate any advice on use of ULE 3.0 and ZFS prior to 7.1 and a comment on what is holding up 7.1. Thanks

Wine and FreeBSD
Hello all, First, happy to see the new release of WINE 20050111 for FreeBSD (and previous 20041201) I obtained and compiled the latest version for my standard FreeBSD 5.3 install. ? Upon running any windows/wine app I get the error messages err:heap:HEAP_CreateSystemHeap system heap base address 0x80000000 not available err:heap:HEAP_CreateSystemHeap system heap base address 0x80000000 not

Dump Unencrypted SSL Traffic
I've got an application that I can run under wine. It uses SSL to communicate with a server. Since it's using SSL I can't just sniff the network packets. What would be the best way to have wine be able to dump the unencrypted data to a file for analysis? If this requires modifying code, which files should I look at? -- Anish Mistry amistry at am-productions.biz AM Productions

"sleeping without queue" ?
Hello! My attempt to build openoffice.org-3 seems to be hanging. Pressing Ctrl-T produces: load: 0.11 cmd: tcsh 79759 [sleeping without queue] 0.00u 0.00s 0% 0k (tcsh is used by OOo's build-script). What is this "sleeping without queue" state, and why is process in it for so long? This is an 4-CPU amd64 system with 4Gb of RAM. Only 16% of the swap is currently in use and

Wine and Remote Desktop??---- can't get mouse focus
hi all: I copied over a windows MSTSC.exe and ran the remote desktop, it gave me a small window for the IP address, then after the successful connection, it shows me the (full screen ) XP login interface, weir thing is, it loses mouse / keyboard focus now, so I can't type in anything, neither can I close the window, the focus is still on the background (gnome) desktop, so I could press

Wine on OpenBSD
I am running OpenBSD 3.5. Is it possible for me to make and make install the wine source on my system? I admit to being a newbie, as I've only been using OpenBSD a few months. I have got a lot of programs to work, but some of them always give me Makefile errors. Is there anything special I need to do to get Wine to work? Any kernel recompiles (hope not)? ---------------------------------

AMD64 vs i386, ifstat and bsnmp
Couple of little things I noticed with a new RELENG_7 AMD64 box (as of yesterday) ifstat from the ports cannot seem to find interfaces for some reason ? It works fine on i386 [ns8]# ifstat -b ifstat: no interfaces to monitor! [ns8]# [ns8]# ifconfig em0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500

MSI causing softpanics in guest
lspci shows MSI enabled for PCI device. PCI passthrough works fine. However, as soon as the MSI driver for card is insmodded, kernel panics. This is on xen-unstable. Tried the same with xen-3.3.0 which is supposed to have MSI passthrough, but the same guest shows MSI as disabled. Any else seen this bug, or know of a workaround ? Trace is as follows : ------------[ cut here ]------------

[LLVMdev] Invalid comparison instruction generation
Eli, Using the variables from the original IR, assuming tmp == tmp1 and assume the value is not nan ogt(tmp, tmp1) is !isnan(tmp) && !isnan(tmp1) && tmp > tmp1, or false ule(tmp, tmp1) is isnan(tmp) || isnan(tmp1) || tmp <= tmp1, or true So, this is invalid, or am I misunderstanding what ogt and ule stand for? Assuming this is valid, why convert comparison instructions

Performance on GlusterFS
Hi.... I have setup a 4 node cluster on virtual servers on RHEL platform. Not able to get better performance statistics on glusterFS as compared to local file system. Kindly suggest a test run that can be checked to differentiate between them. [LLVMdev] newbie question - selecting the write kind of pass
I want to create a simple map from a Value to the instruction that defines it. Such a map is present inside SchedGraph, but I need it in a much simpler context. If I got it right, I create a new AnalysisGroup, and write a pass that implements it. What kind of pass should I derive it from? The mapping only makes sense within a function, so FunctionPass seems to be the right choice ... is that

Successful PCIe Graphics VT-d Passthrough to Win32 DomU, Q35 chipset
I am happy to announce that I have successfully (and finally!) been able to pass a PCIe graphics card via VT-d to a Windows XP HVM DomU. About time! Config: -Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad-Core, G0 stepping (I think) -Intel DQ35JO Motherboard, Q35 Chipset, BIOS v.991 (1/9/09), VT and VT-d enabled -nVidia 9500GT (for VT-d passthrough - DomU) -nVidia GeForce2 MX200 (Dom0 console) -Xen (build:

MSI Support in Xen
I was trying to patch Xen 3.2 from the mercurial repository with the MSI patches by Yunhong Jiang given at the bottom of this page : http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2007-11/msg00157.html The tree seems to have significantly changed, especially the hvm_irq_dpci_mapping structure in irq.h header file. Are there any updated patches, or can I get a version of Xen from somewhere

[LLVMdev] make check-lit + grep escape characters
I just want to update test/Transforms/LowerSwitch/feature.ll that already uses grep. It uses grep + count, probably due to shorter construction. -Stepan.
