is 0.23.0 and 0.23.1. the master is 0.23.0.
today we installed a new CentOS 5 node with David Lutterkort''s puppet
0.23.2 rpm. this host is a reinstall of an old FC4 on new hardware.
we are getting this error on 0.23.2, never happened before:

SSL certificate state of the union
Hello there,
Since the update with ruby all my puppet function is dead (well known
issue with the cert) . There has been some discutions on the dev list on
how to patch this for future versions. I have read the list and wondered
how we can solve the issue while waiting for the .24. I am in beta test
of the .23.x version but on my production system i wanted to find a way
to solve this now

Definition specialization
There was a discussion a while ago about adding inheritance to
definitions. There is a need for a way to specialize parameters while
allowing passing other options. This comes up with remotefile where
it would be nice to have a default server location but not specify all
the parameters (and their defaults) in the definition.
Was there a change to the syntax? Is there a way to accomplish this?

Multiple swap partitions
I have a machine with two swap partitions (sda2 and sda8). Both will
have none as mount point. When I try to use puppet (using mount type)
for managing fstab I get problems because "name" in both instances
(i.e. mount path) will be "none". How should I fix this within puppet?

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Tomas,
Thanks for your answer.
Indeed, I checked and my R-3.4.1 installed from the ubuntu repository
use 'libopenblasp-r0.2.18.so' while my R-3.3.2 that I did compiled on my
machine use 'libRblas.so' which explain the difference of behavior.
I will use RhpcBLASctl to avoid issue when combining matrix product and
other multi-threading package.

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Ista,
Maybe a little comment in the 'matmult {base}' doc page or on the
'options {base}' in the field 'matprod' would be useful to remind users
to be cautious regarding BLAS multi-threading?
I understand why this is a BLAS related issue and not directly an R
related issue. Nonetheless, my concern was for non-advanced R users,
that may don't even know what BLAS

options not being parsed...
With both puppet-0.23.0 and 0.23.1 if I setup just the configuration file
puppet.conf, none of the puppetd options seem to get parsed. I first
noticed this when monit failed to start/stop services due to the lack of a
pid file being generated (and mine is not in one of the usual places).
I''m sure that something like the patch attached but I bet it breaks other
assumptions :-)

New rpms for lockdir problem
I just built new puppet rpm''s for Fedora (puppet-0.22.1-2) that fix the
lockdir problem that many of you have encountered. The packages should
show up on a mirror near you very soon.
Unfortunately, I am having trouble getting to my buildsystem that I use
for the RHEL versions of the RPM; I made the source rpm available on my
people page[1] If you need the RPM for RHEL, you need to

crontab provider in 0.23.0
Hi,
I also met an error in crontabs:
Could not prefetch "NilClass"rovider crontab: undefined method `each''
for nil:NilClass
this is on freeBSD. 0.22.4 was working fine on the very same host. Any
idea ? The crontab binary is there but it seems puppet does not find
the right provider in this version ?

noisy reports from cron {}
I''ve been using puppet for a while but I just recently decided to
start using it to manage crontabs.
It works great but puppet is reporting (and being very noisy about it)
every time it does a run even when there is nothing in the actual
crontab to change.
I think this is happening because I''m setting defaults for the Cron
type, which I should be able to do. Right?
eg: Cron {

puppet does not speak french ;)
i got a little idea there,
should not puppet use environement LANG=C when managing facts or
packages etc... ?
i have LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8
and puppet choke on quite a few facts (erors messages with uname for
exemple: Pour en savoir davantage, faites: « uname --help ».
) and also with packages updates :

escape regex code
hello,
i wondered if it would not be interesting to have some filters
function in puppet like
filter_integer(), filter_prelregex, filter_text, filter_email or such
so we can validate and make our defines a little more foolproof :)
i particulary see filter_regex as usefull in quite a lot of exec that
manipulates text files. What do you think about this ?

Plotting confidence intervals for lme
Hello and sorry to disturb.
I'm trying to plot the confidence intervals for the fixed effects of a lme.
I want to obtain graphically, if it is possible, a bar with Estimate, upper
and lower CI for each level of the factors.
I know how to do for a lm model but for a lme one, I tried with
plot(intervals(...)) and plot(ci(...)) from the gmodels package but it
doesn't work well.
Thanks

Puppet facts are no longer downcased in the language, and string
comparisons now default to being case-insensitive. Where your

is now ''Solaris'' or ''Debian''. However, you can still do comparisons

Hello,

not regonize anymore my definitions, i use some ensure lines definition
