DatabaseCorruptError
Hi there,
My web app uses Xapian via the PHP bindings. I'm getting this error
thrown occasionally when atempting to instantiate a XapianDatabase
object for searching.
DatabaseCorruptError: Expected block 107 to be level 1, not 0
Here's the line that invokes it:
$database = new XapianDatabase(PROJROOT.'/data/xapian/posts');
And my version is xapian-core 1.2.3 with matchspy.

Distance between points and a polygon?
Dear R users,
I know that this could easily be solved within a GIS-package, but
sometimes it's more convenient to use R. So here's my question anyway...
Does anyone of you know about any R-functions/code that calculates the
distance between a number points and a polygon or polyline? I have
looked thru the different libraries that deals with spatial statistics
but haven't found

python-sybase on Centos 5 x86_64
Installed the freetds rpms from centos-extras, also tried the ones in

Can you run WEBrick with ruby -d somehow?
I have finally gotten to the point where I have to use the debugger to
figure out a class loading problem.
Is there a way to run WEBrick under the debugger (ruby -d)?
Thanks,
Wes

No login prompt (somehow related to Samba)
Please reply directly to me and I will summarize.
Hi gurus,
I'm running into a 'difficult' problem relating Samba and getting a
'login:' prompt.
When I enable 'hosts: dns nis files' in the nsswitch.conf file, smbd will
hang during start up. I've enabled debugging level 100, but nothing
interesting shows up in the logs.
More importantly though, I have a startup

bind update flubbed somehow?
hey folks, we upgraded bind last night to bind-9.8.2-0.62.rc1.el6_9.1.x86_64
and now our server seems to not be able to update. Whenever we add
records and update the soa and reload,
it still shows the old data..
so for example, we have
[root at bind1 /var/named]$grep servername domainname.net.zone
[root at bind1 /var/named]$nslookup -port=5353 servername 10.115.76.87
Server: 10.10.76.87

nslookup is deprecated. What does dig say? It's much more informative and
shows all the details of the query and reply packets.

bind update flubbed somehow? (resolved)
ugh, the upgrade changed the owner from named to root on /var/named
where my zone files are and
therefore named could not read the zone files.. How embarrassing.. ;)

Question: Is Server Side Search announced somehow via the IMAP CAPABILITY string?
Hey Timo,
Subject says it all...
This question is a result of an ongoing discussion on the mozilla
enterprise list...
Is there a standard/reliable way for an IMAP client to determine that an
IMAP server supports server side search (with indexes)?
Thanks,

panel.lmline - are m, b, and r^2 accessible somehow?
Hi R Folks...
Are the results of a fit carried out by panel.lmline readily available for
use in a lattice plot? I¹d like to put r^2, m, and b on each panel. I can
certainly write something that does this manually and then use it with
panel.text, but if it¹s already available, that would be preferable,
especially as lattice permits condition and subsetting so readily.
Looking at panel.abline, I

Is an R sub-session somehow possible?
I wrote the interface between R and TeXmacs. Recently, I added tab
completion. However, there is one slight problem. In order to enable easy
interaction with R, I (I.e. my program) interact with the command-line
interface. This means that the user can invoke demo(), and then R will
interact with the user and ask to press enter.
It also means that the user can enter
a<-c(3,4
and then R will
