bge drivers does not work for 3COM 3C996-SX / 3C996B-T
I'm experiencing similar problems with a 3C996-T under 4.8-REL.
In particular, connecting a 4.8-REL machine to a 5.1-REL machine leads
to some interesting situations: I can do simple pings across the link,
but ssh fails, and heavy pings crash the 4.8 machine. Similarly
changing the interface configuration with ifconfig tends to crash the
4.8 machine (mtu, link0, up/down, etc). The

Also getting some TCP retransmits. This causes noticable delays in
pretty much everything I do now. Not a problem prior to the SUP.
I was on 4.8-STABLE before.

7.2-PRERELEASE/sunx2200/bge/msi broken
Hi,
between March 16 and now, bge on a Sun X2200 stopped working,
turning off msi (via hw..pci.enable_msi=0) got it working again.
I tried first replacing bge with an older version but that did not help.
please advice :-)

Duplicate packets when using aggregate datalinks on bge
I opened a bug report earlier today but it doesn''t seem to have been
added to the bugs database. I''m posting here in case one of the
Crossbow developers might see it and confirm this behavior.
Description
Duplicate packets are generated whenever an aggregate is introduced
into the network configuration. We''ve ruled out switch ports and
physical bge interfaces as

bge problems in RELENG_9, bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting
Hi,
I'm having lots of difficulties with BCM5719, which is the default
network card of HP Proliant DL 360 G8 servers. I can get a few ping
replies before I get a couple of these:
bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting
bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting
Then everything hangs. Can not log in using ssh.

Timing source on SMP system
I need a timing device for the DL360G2 for conferencing and meetme. For
a timing device I have 2 X100P cards but neither will work in my
DL360G2. The system will not even boot with either card in the system.
Other PCI cards seems to work fine. I called Digium support and was told
that there must be a conflict between the card and my Compaq DL360G2.
I then moved on to ztdummy. I'm sure the

Problem with Bridging ... and bge devices under FreeBSD 7.x?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I'm trying to run a QEMU VM on top of a FreeBSD 7.x server ... I've tried the
exact same setup on my desktop, using 192.168.1.x and an fxp device, and it all
works perfectly, but as soon as I do this on another machine on a public IP,
I'm not getting any routing, I can't even ping it from the same machine ...

Timing source on SMP system - Disable RTC for zaprtc
Does anyone know where to disable rtc support on redhat 9.0 using make
menuconfig?
I thought I disabled it but still got the following error when trying to
make zaprtc:

zaprtc.c:719: storage size of `rtc_fops' isn't known

dhclient doing DISCOVER with bad IP checksum - bge
Sorry for the cross-post, but this could be either lists problem.
I have 2 boxes running 7-STABLE as of 20081130, both i386 SMP. One is
running ISC DHCPD 3.0.x from recent ports, and the other dhclient from
make world.
The server is refusing to answer the DISCOVER request, as it thinks the
IP checksum is wrong, which tcpdump also confirms. Other DHCP clients
are working fine on this network,

Problem during "make" with the devel version R-2.3.0 under Sun OS
Hello R users and developers,
I had a problem when I tried to install the last version of R-devel.
I know that this R version is an unstable version and that this problem
may be irrelevant.
I am maintaining a R package thus I check if this package can be
installed with the development version.
( Everinthing is fine with the R-patched)
The details are the following:

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and syslinux 2.04
Hi all!
We use pxelinux for booting a diskless Linux from whitch we install all
our systems.
But we discovered some Problems:
- With v1.75 the Kernel is fetched from the TFTP-Server with no problem,
but it gets not started on Broadcom NetXtreme with newer PXE-Bioses
- With v2.04, pxelinux even seems not to be able to fetch the kernel
from the TFTP-Server. This affects also Intel's

[LLVMdev] Instruction pattern type inference problem
I have a back end which has both scalar and vector registers that
alias each other. I'm having a problem generating the ISel from
tablegen that appears only when a vector register class is declared
to contain integer vectors. At that moment tablegen doesn't seem to
be able to infer integer types in patterns that it was able to
before, but I'm not clear on why that's the

inconsistent Int 22h local boot
I have a Dell 1435 system that will not respond correctly to a com32 call
to Local boot
Int 22h
AX=14h
DX = 0
This call should not return. It should unload the PXE+UNDI stacks and
continue the boot process with the next boot device.
This call is working fine for me on an HP DL360G2 and on a Dell PE 850.
But, on this Dell 1435 the call is returning from the Int 22h.
I am using syslinux 3.51

FreeBSD box dropping packets

I have a FreeBSD box running 5.4-RELEASE-p8.

bge0: <Altima AC1002 Gigabit Ethernet, ASIC rev. 0x105>
Firewall is pf with about 5000 rules.
A week ago it was working just properly, but after adding more RAM

creating a vnic to represent the factory MAC address
How do I create a vnic that represents the factory assigned MAC
address of my physical nic?
The bge device in my system (x2100) appears to support 4 MAC
addresses. The driver reserves the first as the ''primary/default''
address and allows manipulation of the other three via the
MAC_CAPAB_MULTIADDRESS interface.
I''d like to use vnics on this system, as I have Xen guest

bge on the new Mac Mini
Hi all,
Over the last month or so I've installed FreeBSD 9 (-stable) on several Mac
Minis via the memstick image; they seem to be pretty good little boxes for
things like offsite secondary nameservers, for example, and they're easily
replaced in case of problems.
However, the newest minis have slightly different hardware, and FreeBSD can't
find the built-in NIC. pciconf -lv on the
