Where did kernfs go?
kernfs seems to have disappeared between 4.7-REL and 4.8-REL, but I couldn't find any mention of this in any of 4.8-REL docs, where/why did it go? -Paul-

no idle CPU ... system hogging it all ...
Its been looking like this pretty much all day ... top shows nothing major, and the drive looks reaonably quiet ... there is nothing in messages to indicate a problem that I can see (even those enclosure messages have been reasonably quiet) ... What consumes SYS CPU? Stuff like apache and jakarta-tomcat use up USER CPU, correct? neptune# iostat 5 tty aacd0 pass0

Problem with Asterisk 1.4.0-beta3 and Digium TE405P
Hope this is the right place to report/ask for help... Have have a 1.2.7.1 installation running reasonably happily for a while. Thought we might give 1.4.0b3 a go. Ran it on a local test machine (that has the single port card) and all was well. However, when I run it on a machine with the 4-port card, it has trouble with Zaptel. I attach some diagnostics and welcome any suggestions (including

dsync changing source permission to "root" in backup mode
Hi, We have dsync failing once in a while when running in "backup" mode. What's strange is that the result is that the file permissions on the *source* machine ends up with the wrong permissions (set to uid 0). Even though the dsync manual clearly says: "Backup mails from default mail location to location2 (or vice versa, if -R parameter is given). No changes are ever done

Incoming SIP from Cisco 7206
I am running an Asterisk server through a Cisco 7206 PSTN gateway. I am able to make outgoing SIP calls without a problem, though incoming calls have been somewhat of a problem. I am not sure exactly how sip.conf should look in such a scenario. I believe most Cisco gateways are just managed through ACL's, with no authentication, so I think I have the outgoing "peer" statement

R help- getting same results with different data
I am calculating batting averages using the attached code ("dye.02_R_code.doc" and "giambi.03_R_code.doc") and the attached data. I've run this code for several players' data but always get the same results (see attached "MLB R CONSOLE.doc). It's obvious that the results wouldn't be exactly the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated. *I've

Paint chanegs block dbus and fuse plugins
I was writing a simple plugin a while ago which just sets the paint values on inactive windows. The plugin is very simple and the main part is below. When I load this plugin it blocks dbus and fuse plugins so that they only reply to requests when the active window changes. Is there anything obvious here that would cause that? static Bool inactivePaintWindow (CompWindow *w, const

Parameterization of Inverse Wishart distribution available in MCMCpack and bayesm libraries
Hello Everyone Both the MCMCpack and the bayesm libraries allow us to make draws from the Inverse Wishart distribution. But I wanted to find out how exactly is the Inverse Wishart distribution parameterized in these libraries. The reason I ask is the following: Now its generally standard to express Inverse Wishart as IW(0.5 * DOF,0.5* Scale). (DOF-> Degree of freedom, Scale -> Scale

Replacing variables in one dataset with those from another
Hoping someone out there can help me...this seems like an easy task but I can't figure it out... I want to replace variables in one dataset (Dataset1) with a variable from another dataset (Dataset2). All the values for variables x1 and x2 in Dataset1 have a unique match to the variable uniquenum in Dataset2. For example, in Dataset1 grpnum A has a value of 343 for variable x1. In Dataset2,
