Morrowind GOTY on Darwine - empty resolution list?
I hope it's ok to ask about Darwine on these forums. I installed Morrowind GOTY on OSX using Darwine and it starts. But I can't set a resolution as the list of resolutions is empty. It recognises an NVIDIA graphics card but no resolutions. Any ideas how to get this working? Thanks

For Mac OS X users... Xquartz and RandR.
Just as a note.. Xquartz is going to have RANDR capabilities in Xquartz 2.6.0, thanks to the work of Jeremy Huddleston and Jan Hauffa.
Right now on Macports if you install xorg-server-devel it will be a build with what is currently in of RandR... its still not totally finished, but it would be nice if some Mac Users could test how it works so far with Wine... if we find bugs now, it could help

Need help with auto-titlebar on unmaximized window with Compiz/Ubuntu 11.04/Unity
re, all.
Here's a bug filed against Google Chrome for the same problem:
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=80856 and here's some
forum users complaining about the same problem, and regrettably their
solution is to stop using Ubuntu's Unity mode:

X11 (Mac) graphics problem
Running OS X 10.6.3 on an Intel Mac (processors "2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo", memory "3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM) and the newest version of Wine accessible through MacPorts.
Hey. A little while ago, I was having trouble installing wine. I eventually managed to install with MacPorts. Everything was going fine until today, when the program I actually wanted to run (Dwarf Fortress 0.31.01)

Greater OS X integration
Okay, I'd like to start first by saying, awesome work on this project! It's been a few years since I last tracked the progress of WINE on OS X, and it's come on leaps and bounds as I can run most everything I've thrown at it so far, with only minor issues here and there, which is a damned sight better than VMWare Fusion or Parallels which have compatibility issues everywhere,

Screen goes white while playing WonderKing
Hello,
I'm having difficulties running WonderKing (http://wonderking.ndoorsgames.com/center/default.asp) on an Intel Mac version 10.5.8 using Wine 1.1.35.
I was able to download and install both programs successfully, but when I run WonderKing, I'm able to get to the first screen where you can check to see if you have all the files needed to run the game (I have all of them), change from

The place to put this information is the MacOSX wiki page, which looks to be sorely in need of updating. An experienced Mac user needs to do it. http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX

Include X11 on Mac
Good day,
I wanted to ask if there is a way to include either X11 or XQuartz into a custom compiled wine? The idea is that the program will run whether or not the user has XQuartz installed. Basically a fallback that will be included with the .app that holds the wine binaries.
I am new to Mac and I had some success but I want to understand it more, where the config files of the included XQuartz

Mac OS X issue since 0.9.59
In short, when running a application via wine, the active window migrates down my screen until it disappears, and then returns from the top of the screen. This problem did not exist with 0.9.58, but has been present ever since.
I compile wine from source by running ./tools/wineinstall, as suggested in the README file that comes with the source.
Can anyone else verify this problem? Or is it local

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
I suppose Zach Drayer makes the Darwine version from thisismyinter.net. I tried his version 1.1.3, and it broke my Wine, so have gone back to 1.1.1.
Hopefully the next build by either can fix OpenGL as well. I read it can't compile because of a dependancy on an XQuartz library which is too old in the current version. XQuartz 2.3.1 is also overdue. Maybe Kronenberg is waiting on them, too. It

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
Thanks for working on it regardless, all these compiling issues are beyond most of us. Everything is "easy" or "manageable" to fix as long as you know how! I don't know if it's available via Macports, but I imagine Darwine is rather tweaked for the Mac beyond merely being a straight port, I don't know if Macports would throw up similar compiler issues.

Error when trying to open Half-Life 1 in Mac OSX
When trying to open Half Life in Wine on a Mac running OSX 10.5.8, the game opens in a 600 x 800 window and flashes for a tenth of a second, goes to white, and displays this error message:

Hi all,
A couple of days ago I decided to give wine on a mac a try caused I got bored of dual booting my mac. I ve been A linux wine user for years and I had some pretty good results with it. I figured that i would have the same results on a mac but i guess I was wrong.
I got my version (wine-devel packet wine 1.1.16) from macports. Got winetricks as well.
Everything were setup fine and

Re: Installing NWN on MacOS 10.5
Xquartz problems is one reason in Wineskin Engines I have a custom built version of Xquartz... it doesn't use your systems installed X11 or Xquartz version... much like Crossover builds in their own X server as well.
As to getting it to work in Wineskin... the NWN wrapper I made that is around comes with directions on how to get the game inside of it... then its just a mac app. Its not

R, OSX, should creating SVGs request XQuartz
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

hi,
on OS X, when you try and use something which depends on X11, and you
don't have XQuartz installed, you receive an error message, it directs
you to download XQuartz, and then it euthanizes your process.
(my guess is that there is a skeleton X11 dylib installed in OS X by
default, and it is responsible for the error message and the

Mac OS X, X11, resolution problem
I'm trying to run a game in full screen mode that cannot change my resolution to 640x480...
the error message is
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 640x480x32 @0! (NoRes)
how would I go about doing something to add this available resolution so it can auto switch?
I know its possible as Crossover can do it fine... just not when i use standard Wine.
