Evernote Cannot Connect To Internet
Hi
I'm trying to run Evernote under Wine and it installs correctly, but after that it asks for login and password. I put them, press login and it says "Can't connect to server. Please try later". The most sad thing was I could run Evernote successfully on Wine under previous versions of Ubuntu, but it doesn't work on the latest 12.04.
Versions of software I tried:

wine and wine-preloader segfault when running Evernote 4.2.2
I installed Evernote 4.2.2 build 3913 under wine 1.3.14 on Fedora 14 after reading in the AppDB that Evernote 4 works well for others, albeit with sometimes slugging performance. I got Evernote to install just fine, but running it crashes every time. I tried configuring the Evernote wine environment as XP and Windows 7, and have the same problem.
When I launch the Evernote.exe, it launches a few

cannot update or uninstall evernote 4 under wine
Hi,
I installed evernote under wine on ubuntu 10.10, but now that I want to update to the latest version of evernote, I get a message that evernote is already installed for one user and I can only install the new version after uninstalling the previous one. The trouble is that when I do that from the wine menu it seems to uninstall but then reinstalls the same older version. I'm stuck in a

I have this exact same problem. I would like to uninstall evernote 4.3.1.4479 but every time I run uninstall, the program actually reinstalls itself. I am running wine-1.2.2 on Ubuntu 11.04.

Evernote stopped working after upgrade to Ubuntu 11.04
I was using the netbook version of Ubuntu 10.10 and I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 (which I now realize I shouldn't have). Not only can I not use the netbook version, and have to use Ubuntu classic, now Evernote program doesn't work under wine. I tried reinstalling wine and removing .wine, but nothing works.
Here's the output from the terminal

edit in external image editor
The 3d modeling program SketchUp allows to edit a texture image with an external editor. The texture is exported into the temp folder and then the image editor is executed with the image path as argument.
I want to edit textures with the native (linux) Gimp. If I add in the preferences of SketchUp "/usr/bin/gimp", it succeeds to start gimp, but the file cannot be opened due to a wrong

Getting filetypes to open with an EXE
I have a program I wanted to run a certain file type in, but since it's an EXE file, Ubuntu doesn't detect it as an installed program.
I'm guessing I have to run some sort of command-line through Wine's program launcher, but I'm not really sure what.

Let Wine program pop up URL links in default browser, NOT IE
A few versions back, when one of my wine'd program needed to show an URL page, it (through Wine of course) sent that link to my default browser (Firefox) in Linux. It worked like this until version 1.1.35. Starting with 1.1.36, it pops up an IE window instead, which doesn't work on the URL and I don't want. Is there a way to reset its behavior so that the link is sent to my Firefox?

Making Wine Firefox the default browser
OK, I see posts all over the place for the opposite problem -- people want wine apps to open their linux default browser. But I have the opposite problem. I use a piece of software (GradeQuick) that only runs on Windows (and Mac sometimes when it feels like it). But it runs by first opening the web page which called it (www.edline.net), and it will not run through Linux. So when I click,

Wine Registry : winebrowser "%1" : the quotes were omitted
Hello,
here is what I found :
I made a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 in November, and in the Wine registry, some file types were pre-associated with winebrowser %1 (without the quotes around %1) thus preventing them to work.
I found only yesterday that I needed to add the quotes. Now I can launch any file from any Wine application, and that call my linux-associated application.
I don't know
