I can't see anything when entering battle.net in StarCraft
Hi, All! Maybe anybody deals with problem similar to the subject? I've used versions of Wine from 20001202 till 20011004. System: RedHat 7.1 + XFree-4.1.0 Under newer versions of wine I can play StarCraft (BroodWar 1.08b) in windowed mode (without DGA support - with DGA I've got an frozen screen and must to kill X server). Older versions supports full-screen accelerated mode with DGA and

Starcraft with Battle.net
Anyone here ever get Battle.net to work in Starcraft? The apps db is not very helpful, and I can't find anything recent anywhere else. I did see you have to disable FreeType to get it to work in Cedega, and I've confirmed that works - unfortunately I can't find how to do this in vanilla wine. Anyone have any luck? Starcraft really needs multiplayer goodness. Mike

Battle.net problems
I have Starcraft working and would like to know if it is possible to use the Battle.net multiplay interface? I am using fsgs (client/server) to redirect battle.net to my own machine. This appears to work nicely (others can connect, and my local starcraft connects as well). There are some problems with the graphics, though. There are no fonts at all, making it very difficult to see what

Playing Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition
Hi all, I have a simple question (I think). I unearthed a copy of Warcraft II: Battle.net edition, and got a surge of nostalgia so I installed it. I have an Intel iMac running Snow Leopard. I was able to install the hybrid disc using Wine Bottler. (I mounted the Windows side of the disc via Terminal.) Now, when I hit "Play Warcraft II" it says that it can't find a file in the disc,

More Starcraft IPX issues
Wine is : 20010216 Distro is : RH7 w/ all the latest patches Starcraft works beautifully (but only as root does DGA work :o( ), /except/: Running network games (which requires IPX) work perfectly, but only on LAN, i.e., on a setup w/ eth0 and lo, a network game will only work if ipx_interface add -p eth0 802.3 0x12345678 Under these conditions I can play, no problem. But, this doesn't

Starcraft II Beta Launcher Issue
I successfully installed the beta to one of my partitions, and the patches were all applied without a hitch, didn't get the slow firewall problem until the last patch application though, for whatever reason. I have an nVidia GTX 260 with the most current drivers installed. When I put the following command in the terminal it hangs on the bold and then goes through the rest to give me a popup

Starcraft (not so) success
The story: I have wine-20010216 with Starcraft installed from within wine. All works well, except, sometimes, in the middle of the game (running as root to get DGA), the mouse and keyboard stop responding altogether, 30 seconds after which the game stops moving (the display freezes altogether). I cannot do anything, not even switch to another tty. My only course is to ssh into the box from

Starcraft & Keyboard Problems
I'm sorry if this is a re-post - I switched news servers and it's not showing up on the new one. Here goes: I'm trying to run Starcraft fullscreen using xinit: xinit /usr/bin/wine ./starcraft.exe -- /usr/X11R6/bin/X :1 -screen Starcraft This runs SC in full-screen mode, no window manager, a separate X server, DGA-enabled, the whole 9 yards. Starcraft starts and looks great.

Starcraft 2 Access Violation
SC was running fine until I changed graphics cards. (nvidia gt120 to quadro fx 3800) Now I can log in but If I try to continue campaign or play a bnet game it crashes with an Access Violation claiming the memory cannot be read or that it can't be written. I've upgraded the kernel, installed the latest drivers from nvidia and I'm running the latest wine build. Anyone have an idea of

starcraft disappointment.
I've tried everything i can think of and looked and tried a ton of hints on the page for it. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=149 Under "Starcraft is soooooo sloowwwwww (that's me)" Posted up my log and everything. I tried updates, wine updates, registry changes, switched from opengl to the default, back and forth. There are times starcraft

Trouble with Starcraft II, actual gameplay doesn't work.
I installed starcraft 2 into wine, and everything works perfectly fine. I log in, go to singleplayer, start a game with the AI, and everything works as it should. But the actual game doesn't work, I can't see or control any units or buildings. Example: What do I need to do/change? This is the only problem with the game, and nothing has been

Starcraft II on OpenSUSE 12.1 installing but not startin
Im running Opensuse 12.1 64 bit with KDE 4.8.2 installed. I've tried both the basic wine install as well as installing through crossover. The game installs fine after I downloaded the online version install, but after it shows 100% installed and I hit next, it briefly shows the update screen and then seemingly crashes. Afterwards, when I click to run Starcraft II it just shows the waiting

Starcraft II 1.1.2: Cannot load libGL
Hey everybody, I tried Googling specific problems with this but could not find any. I was working under wine1.3.4 when Starcraft II was in 1.1.1, but after successfully installing the patch 1.1.2 (for Starcraft II that is), I am unable to start the game, and it officially complains about DirectX not being installed. However, that's not true as we all know... The terminal output is as follows:

Starcraft II crashes on certain maps
I have been somewhat successfully playing Starcraft II on Wine except that I can't seem to load certain maps. When I try to play on them I get a "pop" in the audio while loading, then after about a minute, the game crashes. I then receive a message of this sort: ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)occurred at 0073:69EBFCCD. The memory at '0x00000008' could not be read. I've

StarCraft II, low CPU/GPU usage
Hi all, I'm trying to properly understand why SC2 doesn't use CPU/GPU at 100%, sleeps all the time. I've managed to instrument SleepEx function, and I found out that the game spawns a lot of threads which are put to sleep by themselves 95% of the time if not more. This should definitely be on of the (if not main) reason why SC2 doesn't use the CPU/GPU at 100% and both are set to

WINE, StarCraft II and I/O bottlenecks
Hi all. Since I installed SC2 on my Ubuntu 10.04 x86-64 (Phenom II X4 965 BE, 8 GB Ram, nVidia 470 GTX - Driver 260.19.06, USB mic+headphones), I never managed to play at it with Ultra details with more than 12~15 FPS. You could say that the fault is in a slow CPU, bad videocard or lousy sound card (the above USB stuff). But the CPU isn't that bad, the ram quantity is more than enough and
