Installing one channel GUI
Hello,
I'm trying to install oneChannelGui on my computer. For this purpose, I've
tried to carefully follow the manual, and done the following:
1. I've installed the Affy power tools
2. I've installed TCL from
http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActiveTcl/ (by following the link at the
right side of the page, and installing activeTCL8.5.0.0)
Nonetheless, when I try running

Adding Tk extensions to R for windows
Hi,
I'm developing an R/TclTk application which uses the BWidget and
Tktable Tk extensions and I'm trying to make it easy to install.
For now, I'm focusing on Windows users who start with nothing.
I have built Tcl/Tk and Tktable for windows using Msys/MinGW.
(BWidget contains only Tcl scripts so does not need building.)
I have then copied Tktable and BWidget into the lib subdirectory

Tcl.Tk Tktable package missing from R 4.0.0 on Windows
Dear R-devel list members,
The Tktable package for Tcl/Tk is apparently missing from the Windows distribution of R 4.0.0. I (actually a user of the Rcmdr package) discovered this when trying to use the new-data-set dialog in the Rcmdr package, producing the error, "Tcl package 'Tktable' must be installed first."
I believe the Tktable has been part of the R distribution for

need gui matrix editor: does R Core team have advice on how?
Dear R-devel:
Would R core team consider endorsing a graphical toolkit and trying to
facilitate development of little GUI tools?
I need a gui matrix editor for users that want to be able to write
matrices that are later used to simulate data. Instead of teaching
them to write a covariance matrix (for example, for mvtnorm), I want
to tell them run a function that pops up a table they can fill

R GUI considerations (was: R, Wine, and multi-threadedness)
Hello,
Following a discussion initiated on r-devel, that mentions SciViews-R
and other GUIs issues for R, I would like to make comments (and would be
happy if these comments would initiate interesting initiatives).
A big, big problem with SciViews-R is that a part of it is written in
Visual Basic 6, a M$$$$ language, not supported any more, buggy, non
transposable to other platforms, etc,

iwidgets not found in r on windows
Hello,
I have a problem with using Iwidgets in R while i'm able to use BWiget and Tktable. If I let tcl list the names of
packages, Iwidgets seems available. I use R 2.6.0; in addition addTclPath("C:/Tcl/lib") has been used (in which iwidets is present)

Installing R on Red Hat Linux, Tcl/Tk
Hi,
I've been trying to install R on Red Hat Linux 9 for some
potential users of my R/TclTk application. I tried using the
rpm for R 1.7.1 for Red Hat Linux 9. It told me that I needed:
libtcl8.3.so
so I looked for a binary release of Tcl 8.3.x on
http://www.tcl.tk/software/tcltk/8.3.html
but found that the link to the Tcl 8.3.x binaries pointed to
ActiveTcl 8.4.x . I couldn't see

Problems in running affylmGUI
Hi,
I am trying to run affylmGUI on my mac computer. I have already
installed the Tlc package as well as Bwidgets through ActiveTcl
conversion installing files.
However, when running affylmGUI() on R, I keep getting the message in
the attached file.
I have copied the tcl folders from the root library to the user
library, and have obtained the same issue.
I would really appreciate if

tclarray with embedded spaces in data
I would like to use a tclArray:
mytkarray <- tclArray()
as the variable for a table:
table1 <- tkwidget(f1, 'table', variable= mytkarray)
but if I include character strings with embedded spaces, I get braces
appearing in the table.
I can remove them using a non-R tclarray, (the difference between the
first example of

affylmGUI
I have been trying to use the package affylmGUI but keep getting the error message that it cannot find the package "Bwidget". I have downloaded the activeTcl for Windows and installed it in the default location C:\Tcl. The problem still persists. I have also tried to copy the files from C:\Tcl\lib into the C:\Arquivos de programas\R\R-2.6.1\Tcl\lib but the problem still there.
Any help

Using Tk table widget to display matrix
Has anyone written a matrix editor or data.entry() replacement using the Tk
table widget? I've been playing around with the examples at
http://bioinf.wehi.edu.au/~wettenhall/RTclTkExamples/tktable.html
and making some progress, but I'd rather not spend much time on this if
someone else has already done it.

Tcltk question for R people
Hello...
Curious to know whether the TK extensions “Tktable” and “Iwidgets” will be
included in future versions of R (full installation). These are key
components of GUI construction and would be very useful in my current
R-tcltk endeavors. I realize that I could just install a version of
ActiveTcl, which includes the extensions; however, my goal is to eventually
distribute my work keeping

Is the tcltk failure in affylmGUI related to R bug 15957
I maintain the package affylmGUI. It works when installed on many
previous versions of R. I have today tested exactly the same code under
R-2.15.3, R-3.0.2, R-3.1.0, R-3.1.1, R-3.1.2 and R-devel.
I have also tested the versions of affylmGUI downloaded by biocLite for
each version of R and the same result applies.
I have no errors under 2.15.3, 3.0.2, 3.1.0 and 3.1.1. The following

question on affylmGUI / oneChannelGUI
Hi everyone.
I installed affylmGUI and oneChannelGUI package on R 2.7.1 with the
latest version of BioC.
After I start R, I do get an error that says "Error in
loadNamespace(name) : there is no package
called 'affylmGUI'" and a pop-up window with a message "fatal error :
unable to restore saved data
in .Rdata". I would really appreciate your suggestions on how to fix

tcltk, tclRequire and Tktable help
I know almost nothing about the tcltk library, and the
documentation seems very poor. What's the meaning of this
error, and is there any way to fix it? I'm running R 2.4.1
in a Windows XP machine where I have almost no privileges
(but at home I am the Evil Overlord of a Linux machine...)

tcltk freezing using MS Windows for R-2.14+
I am the maintainer of a Bioconductor package (affylmGUI) which uses
tcltk. It freezes inconsistently on MS Windows, but not Mac or Unix. see
details below.
After considerable testing I have reduced the problem from a few
thousand lines of code to 30 lines!
If you paste the following lines of code into an R window:
testGUI <- function(){
require(tcltk)
