Apple movie trailers on Centos6/Firefox
Hi all!
Once again, Apple has messed with their trailers/website such that I can
no longer play their trailers on Centos 6 (note that it still works
fine on my two Fedora machines, F17 and F19, without any special
settings.
on Centos, I've long ago found that by setting the user agent to certain
values I could make it work, but now that no longer helps. when I try
to view a trailer all I get

What happened to the default iptables rules on the minimal install of CentOS6 x86_64
Sometime ago the minimal install stopped putting a default /etc/sysconfig/iptables file which allowed only ssh, why the change?

minimum distance between line segments
Dear R helpers,
I think that this may be a bit of a math question as the more I
consider it, the harder it seems. I am trying to come up with a way to
work out the minimum distance between line segments. For instance,
consider 20 random line segments:
x1 <- runif(20)
y1 <- runif(20)
x2 <- runif(20)
y2 <- runif(20)
plot(x1, y1, type = "n")
segments(x1, y1, x2, y2)

need-restart ?
Hi,
today I updated the glibc packages on some CentOS machines. After the
Update I checked which
services/processes I have to restart "yum -C ps" or "needs-restarting"
At the most machines I get no information about necessary restarts, but
at two machines a long listing :

386 : /sbin/udevd-d
659 : /sbin/udevd-d
999 : /usr/sbin/vmtoolsd

iptables on C5
Hi all,
I am trying to get iptables to work for me...
I am running asterisk (11.23.0) on a C5 machine. Working fine on port 5060
udp. I have need to tcpenable=yes SIP and run that on port 5068.
Since port 5060 is already running I was going to redirect 5068 to 5060.
So I thought I could use iptables to do that - but does not seem to be
working.
192.168.10.201 is my machine, 192.168.1.3 is the

[LLVMdev] LLVM ARM for shipped products?
I have been following the recent posts regarding LLVM ARM backend on the
list. I am trying to figure out if I should start using LLVM to compile my
project or if I should just stick with cross compilers like those provided
by Code Sourcery and wait till a later time. I have the following questions
in this regard:
1. Can some one tell me if LLVM ARM is being used by anyone to compile any

I have developed a web application using RoR on Window-XP. Now my server
is on linux and want to get this running on linux machine. I tried
starting the server but it failed to boot in boot.rb at this line:
unless RUBY_PLATFORM =~ /mswin32/
require ''pathname''
root_path = Pathname.new(root_path).cleanpath(true).to_s
end

Multivariate skew-t cdf
Dear All,
I am using the pmst function from the sn package (version 0.4-0). After
inserting the example from the help page, I get non-trivial answers, so
everything is fine. However, when I try to extend it to higher dimension:
xi <- alpha <- x <- rep(0,27)
Omega <- diag(0,27)
p1 <- pmst(x, xi, Omega, alpha, df = 5)
I get the following result:

fastbind patch -> auth_bind_userdn patch (attached)
Let me know how you like this one.
This assumes one config parameter. The non-null of auth_bind_userdn
overrides auth_bind = yes.
I'm using this patch now on cvs head.
Comments are always welcome. Thanks much,
Geff
