[OT] Small touch screens that works with CentOS
Hi, We want to display on a small LCD screen next to our meeting rooms and optionally let people book the room from the panel. We looked at different providers and those solutions either works with Exchange or Lotus Notes... Since I already have code to fetch events from any CalDAV/WebDSV servers, I'm looking at building the system myself. So I'm wondering if any of you can recommend

Suggestiong for a tablet computer to run Centos-6/7?
I have an iPad Air. Nice kit and good battery life but experience has shown the iPad is just a little too opaque and network dependent for my taste. I was wondering if there existed a similarly sized/robust tablet that can run CentOS-6/7 that anyone would recommend? I am looking from something that I can take on international trips that I can scrub on a regular basis. But, I also desire the

two automatic options for extlinux
Dear syslinux maintainer, on a tablet pc with only a touchpad is during boot time no keyboard exist and therefore no user intervention possible to control the behavior of a bootmanager extlinux in my case. The machine is able to boot from a second drive a another as the default OS and so I think it must be potential at first time extlinux via menu to instruct, to boot from such a drive. If

Just need to vent
Sometimes the direction of UI development in gnome really angers me. For example, when selecting a font for the gedit text editor - there is no way to ask it to only show monospace fonts. It's a fricken text editor, that should be the default - meaning you have to do something special to get fonts shown that aren't monospace. Seriously, who is in charge with the UI design in gnome?

GM108GLM?
Hi, It would seem like it (attachments are from 4.9-rc1, btw), but it doesn't look like there is any support in the Xorg driver. How can I help with that? Hi again, It works :-) Reclocking, however, is another kettle of fish. Trying #echo 0f > /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/pstate hangs X. Trying the same with no X running reveals: Dec 7 10:08:42 dell-smo kernel: [ 728.831020] nouveau 0000:08:00.0: clk: unable to find matching pll values a number of time as then soft lockup. Hi, With drm-next from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-next/2016-12-08/ I don't get the error messages, but I still get a soft cpu lockup. Aha! That seems to do it. If I interpret correctly, it doesn't set it quite to full power, though, but it's certainly an improvement: 07: core 405 MHz memory 810 MHz 0a: core 270-1124 MHz memory 1600 MHz 0f: core 270-1124 MHz memory 2002 MHz AC DC * AC: core 1012 MHz memory 2002 MHz A short run of glmark2 shows aver 100% improvement to ~550 FPS. Interestingly, it's still nowhere

Any free video (or audio) softphone VOIP client under Linux with touchscreen friendly interface ?
Hi, I'm curious if anyone knows of any possibility to use video VOIP client (like Ekiga or Linphone or...) under Linux that could be operated by touchscreen friendly GUI (bigger buttons, large keypad, etc...) ? I like Ekiga, but GUI is small and cannot be operated via touchscreen... But maybe there are some skins for existing clients that are more touchscreen friendly ? Thanks in

Remotely dialing calls from a polycom phone
I have a Polycom IP600 serving as a receptionist phone. We developed a call manager via c/gtk that runs on a touchpad. It allows them to transfer calls, transfer to voicemail, page, etc. The problem is this: When paging another phone from the touchpad, I have to open a channel to the receptionist phone. This rings the receptionist phone. When she picks up, it then pages the desired person. This is
