ie6 and outlook
Hi, I made a Howto for installing IE6, MS Office 2000 and some other apps with wine-20031212 (all never versions have certain drawbacks). Everything works fine and I will soon publish this Howto on my site. In comparison to Crossover there are only two drawbacks with my installation: 1. When IE6 tries to open a new window it is blank. That means also if links want to open themselves in a new

Wine 0.9 - IE - OWA
Hi guys Has anyone have any workarounds with Internet Explorer 6 not displaying the mailbox on Outlook Web Access properly? My specs: Wine 0.9 on FC4, IE6 installed using ies4linux The problems (as I can see): the right-click context menu on the mailbox doesn't work (it doesn't display anything) and the compose email interface is missing the place where you can actually type your mail

An 'orrible question: Outlook 365 under wine on CentOS?

CodeWeavers Outlook for 2009
One great result is that we're continuing to see a lot of broad success stories; an awful lot of applications just work better now than they ever have with Wine in the past. We've just shipped a lot of those 'under the hood' improvements for games out in CrossOver Games 7.2. We're really pushing Direct X 9 support pretty far along, and getting ready to move on Direct X 10.

Web-based shared calendar synchronizable with Outlook
Hi, I know this request is a a little off-topic but may be interesting for dovecot users (at least i hope!) Does anybody has already had an experience with a calendar sharing solution including a webcalendar and an outlook connector, "compatible" with dovecot ? Today, there are many projects aiming to be a "M$ Exchange Killer" (such as Zimbra, OBM, open-exchange, etc) but

SuSE 7.2 & Outlook
Hi, Our corporate policy kinda forces us to use MS Exchange and Outlook 98. Wheras we develope embedded products using Linux and our development team use SuSE 7.2. It seemed the best way around this conundrum was wine and Outlook (for which we have many licences). However on installing wine on a dual boot SuSE 7.2 / WinNT workstation although i can get notebook running well Outlook complains

Outlook 2010 very slow when using IMAP - are there any tweaks?
Hi, though this is a bit of a side question, has anybody had an issue while running Outlook 2010 with Dovecot? The reason why I am asking is that I have setup a Dovecot 2.1.7 server on FreeBSD which works fantastically with Thunderbird but Outlook seems to be twice as slow in transferring information across?? # dovecot -n # 2.1.7: /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE

Joining Samba4 to Domain as DC with Small Business Server 2008 - error with Exchange ldap entries
Hi All I'm trying to join and existing Windows domain with Samba4, on Centos 6.5 Final. I initially tried with the Centos rpm's but it seems the samba-tools didn't exist so I am now using the rpms from SerNet Enterprise SAMBA. The current DC is a Windows Small Business Server 2008 that provides file, print, DNS, DHCP, AD and MS exchange/Outlook Web access. The domain Company.local

simple load balancing/failover for OWA
We are building an exchange cluster with two front end Outlook Web Access servers. We would like to at least have some sort of failover, and prefereably load balancing for them. The MS recommended way is to use NLB, but for various reasons that's not working with our set up. We are looking to set up a single linux server and use something like LVS to load balance/fail over the

Outlook Web Access behind shorewall firewall doesn''t work
Hello, I have a MS Exchange (small business server) that was just upgraded to 2003, behind a bering (shorewall) firewall. OWA is experiencing the issues described in the following technet article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;280823 OWA displays Loading, and does not display properly. I am already running over https. (ports 80 and 443 are DNATed to the server).

Outlook problem when deleting mails
Hi, I'm seeking advice to solve the following "mystery": I set up an IMAP server on Ubuntu 10.04 (dovecot 1.2.9). It appears to work fine apart from one problem. A colleague is running Outlook 2007 on Vista and sometimes (sometimes very often, sometimes only occasionally) when he wants to delete mails, Outlook hangs for some time (he says about 1, 2 or 3 minutes) until it finally

MS Outlook 2007 won't open
I have installed Word, Excel, and Outlook from Office 2007 Enterprise. Word and Excel work okay. But Outlook can't open its main window when I start it (I get an error dialog from Outlook saying that). The configuration wizard run okay. I have tried this on two separate Fedora installations (F12 and F13) using the latest wine version from the repos (1.2). I have googled around and seen posts

outlook 2007 mailbox sort order
What are people doing to affect the sort order of mailboxes in outlook? Apple Mail and MS Outlook similarly suck in that they do not sort '~' correctly -- mailboxes starting with '~' are first instead of last. At least I think this is the fault of the client, since Mulberry sorts correctly. At least with Apple Mail I can drag and drop mailboxes into any display order I like, so

Re: Can't install IE6
Hi awdoyle, I too wanted IE6 installed for the purpose of Outlook Express and its mail handling, particularly with folders as I have many. (...disregarding alternative clients with add ons for the moment) I know IE6 can be installed using Codeweavers Crossover Linux app (based on WINE). With this install, OE is also installed. (You need to manually create a link to the .exe file) I currently
