SecuROM and Wine on Mac OS X
Bah! Okay, so I'm running WINE v1.1.43 on Mac OS X.6.3. Now, I went and bought myself a copy of Oblivion (Game of the Year Edition), but it's got smelly SecuROM in it, which I understand WINE supports? However, whenever I try to run one of the "protected" (from customers) programs it complains that there is no disk. The disk however is there alright, and I have a mapping for

libsmbclient in Mac OS X / Darwin
Dear folks: First of all, thanks for a great product and please do keep up your fine job with samba. As a humble contribution to your project, below is a patch to configure.in that allows libsmbclient.so to be correctly built in my system (Mac with Mac OS X). I hope this to be useful. I also noted that the generated Makefile, did not correctly install the library as the 'install'

Wine window not maximizing in Mac OS X
I recently got a new macbook pro 13", 2.4 Ghz, running Mac OS X 10.6.3. I am having trouble maximizing the Wine Desktop window that opens when I try running applications. It could be possible that the Wine window can't be stretched or made any bigger, but I'm not sure. If I try to make the window bigger by dragging the bottom right corner, the window gets larger, but it just adds a

Question about running SecuROM under WINE
I am new to WINE, and Unix-based systems in General. I have up until recently been using Windows XP Home, but after installing Spore, SecuROM was also installed onto Ring 0 of the Kernel and has pretty much fried my computer. Apparently, because of where it installed itself, it interfered with other programs and now I can't get anything to work right. So I switched to Ubuntu 8.10 for 64-bit

LLD support for ld64 mach-o linker synthesised symbols
Hi Rui, The motivation would be primarily that LLVM/Clang/LLD are community projects such that if I or someone in the community added support for e.g. symbol aliases, then it could be reviewed and potentially merged. ld64 on the other hand does not have a community process for patch submission and code review that I am aware of so its unlikely that if someone from the community came up with a

LLD support for ld64 mach-o linker synthesised symbols
Hi Folks, I have a question regarding LLD support for ld64 mach-o linker synthesised symbols. I did a quick search of the LLD source and I can not find support for them so before I start trying to use lld I thought I would ask. I have found a couple of cases where they are essential. i.e. where there is no other way to get the required information, such as getting the address of the mach-o

Mac OS X, X11, resolution problem
I'm trying to run a game in full screen mode that cannot change my resolution to 640x480... the error message is err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 640x480x32 @0! (NoRes) how would I go about doing something to add this available resolution so it can auto switch? I know its possible as Crossover can do it fine... just not when i use standard Wine.
