New winetricks 20110417: new verbs braid braid_demo cod5_waw deadspace dotnet20sp2 dragonage_ue mise popfs splitsecond splitsecond_demo spore
Another fortnight, another Winetricks.
This release fixes a handful of bugs, and adds a handful of games
(or, really, ports them from wisotool). It also brings back the old
verb dotnet20sp2, since that seems to work with wine-1.3.18
(please let me know if it's useful).
It also adds a rudimentary gui to prompt for Steam username and password,
cleans up the --help message, and improves mac and

Problem installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.0 -- possible regression?
I am suddenly having a problem installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.0.
I have the following wine.
wine-1.5.16
I tried twice, following my own directions.
$ env WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine winecfg
$ winetricks dotnet40
$ wine Dragon12Home_E.exe
The first time I didn't uninstall mono first, and the second time I did.
Both times crashed.
I have a log. Anyone want to take a look?

msvcirt.dll problem with Mirriam Webster Dictionary
Recently, I had to reinstall one of my Debian Wheezy systems and
installed wine-git (wine 1.5.21) in the process. I am using wine-git
because of an anticipated problem with one of the packages that I need
to install. I didn't anticipate a problem with the dictionary since I
have use it before with no problem. The dictionary program installed
with no problem but when I try to run it I get

Pulse AO plugin priority
Just a quick note that the priority in the Pulse AO
plugin (ao/src/plugins/pulse/ao_pulse.c) should be
changed from 41 to 50 (in the ao_pulse_info struct).
Since the plugin now ships as part of libao, its
priority should be a factor of 5, as that's how I
designed the plugin priority system. Plugins that
ship with libao should be a factor of 5, so that 3rd
party plugins can fit in between

Subject: ao patch
Hi,
I just noticed a small typo in ao_esd.c. Here is a patch for it:

selecting driver for ao
I added a couple of functions to my copy of ao.
int ao_get_driver_count(void);
const char * ao_get_driver_name(int index);
With these, I can get a list of drivers and give the user a choice
by using radio buttons, e.g.
[ ] alsa
[*] oss
[ ] esd
[ ] null
[ ] wav
This is a lot nicer than just asking them to enter the name of
the driver.
Here's the code I added to audio_out.c:
const char *

ao/
I dived into automake, autoconf, etc. waters a little while ago, and somehow
got libao to actually compile (!!!) (sort of...). Still not right, though.
The commit looks sorta like this:
* make configure.in in coordination with autoheader and automake properly
create config.h. I put it in ao/include/config.h so that the build won't
need an extra include directory, but if anybody thinks

QEMU 0.9.0 packages available for Solaris 8 (-SDL, use vnc), 9&10 (+SDL)
All,
I''ve posted some QEMU 0.9.0 packages for x86_64 and SPARC on my website at
http://www.thoughtwave.net/downloads.html
Some of these include libSDL support compiled in (The Solaris 10+ version),
but I did not have libSDL available on my Solaris 9 machine.
Some include MTOOLS 3.9.10 which is invaluable for building floppy disk
images for RTOS development.
The packages install in

ao: Sun audio plug-in
Here's the promised Sun audio system plug-in.
I have tested this on OpenBSD. It should work without changes on
NetBSD, too. Jeremy, could you please verify this?
After a few minor tweaks it now also compiles on Solaris 2.7.
Alas, I can't verify whether it actually plays anything there.
I guess this could also with little effort be made to work on
SunOS4.

Anyone able to install Sony Vegas HD Platinum in a linux os?
So, i tried this once before and it didn't work because wine thought it was windows xp and vegas platinum only works with windows 7. I am brand new to Wine and have no idea where to even start. I followed a documentation step by step, barely able to understand it. Using winetricks i got all the stuff supposedly needed to install, but it wouldn't even run the setup.exe file. I am not

New winetricks 20080227: new verbs vbrun3, vbrun4, vbrun5, vbrun6
Detlef contributed verbs vbrun3 and vbrun4, thanks!
And I added vbrun5 and vbrun6 as the preferred synonym for
the existing verbs vbvm5 and vbrun60. That should be easier.
As always, winetricks is at
http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
and its source repository is at

Maybe it's in the wine tree but at the time being it's not activated when you build the prefix because up to now I've not seen it in system32/winsxs.
It's like secur32, for a while not

Hi dankegel,
Here is the d3dx9_43.dll : http://www.d3dx9.net/download-missing-d3dx9_43-dll/ ?download it and then extract the downloaded zip file to the system32 folder which is located in windows folder (that is located in your main drive which contains the installed windows)
