How to return individual equation from {aidsEst} in package [micEcon]?
Hi, R core team
I am using the function {aidsEst} in package [micEcon] to do an AIDS
model now. So far, everything is good. But I want to test the auto
correlation and heteroskedasticity of the individual equation from AIDS
demand system. How can I return the individual equation?
PS: serial correlation test is {bgtest} in package [lmtest] and
heteroskedasticity is {bptest} in package

Legend for two plots
Dear R users,
I am new to R and I couldn't figure out how to solve the following
problem:
I am trying to put a legend below two plots using the code below. The
legend appears in the second plot,
but I want the legend to appear below the two plots in the center of
the total chart. At the moment the
graphic looks like this: http://i48.tinypic.com/2h2fvhf.jpg

Problem with large/small numbers in knitr
I have problems with very large numbers using knitr. In the following, my a
and b are extremely small and ssrr and ssru are extremely large. Knitr
delivers error messages. Scaling ssrr and ssru by 1000 resolved the problem:
ssrr <-ssrr/1000 ; ssru<-ssru/1000
Any clue as to how I might resolve the problem?
BTW, the same program does run in another computer. I am wondering whether

Setting inline hook to a function identical to default in knitr turns of exponential formatting

I noticed that copying the default inline hook function obtained by

into a knit_hook$set(inline = <...>) call turns off exponential

How to simulate demographic (specifically, sub-group) data?
I am a relatively new R user and have recently built a multivariate dataset without the demographic information.
Is there any package or code to simulate subgroup dataset (race, sex, age) using R?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alok

Comparison of demographics between 2 study samples
Dear All:
I have a clinical study where I would like to compare the demographic information for 2 samples in a study. The demographics include both categorical and continuous variables. I would like to be able to say whether the demographics are significantly different or not.
The majority of papers that I have read use multiple techniques to achieve this (e.g., t-test for the continuous

list demographics
Hi all,
I got curious about something, so in proper scientific fashion I
obtained some data and analyzed it.
Question: what is the female participation in the R-help email list?
Data: the most recent list postings, obtained from the website. I took
my best shot at classifying the names given in the email header as
male/female, but ended with a fair number of unknowns.
This dataset had 2797
