How to fake composite primary keys?
I know ActiveRecord doesn''t support composite primary keys, but I need to use
one, and I need it ASAP. I don''t need any composite foreign keys, luckily;
what I have is a table that stores old versions of rows in another table, so
the composite key is an id + date stamp. Would someone tell me a hack I can
use to support this?

[PATCH 1/3] nv50: enable h264 and mpeg4 for nv98+ (vp3, vp4.0)
Create the ref_bo without any storage type flags set for now. The issue
probably arises from our use of the additional buffer space at the end
of the ref_bo. It should probably be split up in the future.

[PATCH 00/10] Add support for MPEG2 and VC-1 on VP3/VP4 for NV98-NVAF
As it turns out, with the proprietary firmware, the VP3 and VP4 interfaces are
identical. Furthermore, this is all already implemented for nvc0. So these
patches (a) move the easily sharable bits of the nvc0 implementation into the
nouveau directory, and then (b) implement the other parts in nv50. The
non-shared parts are still largely copies, but there are some differences, not
the least of which

multiple separators in sep argument for read.table?
Hello,
Is there any way to add multiple separators in the sep= argument in
read.table? I would like to be able to create different columns if I see a
white space OR a "/".
Thanks in advance,

[PATCH 00 of 16] libxl: autogenerate type definitions and destructor functions
The series introduces auto-generation of the type definitions used in
the libxl interface followed by auto-generation of a destructor
function for each type. In the future it may be possible to use the
related data structures for other purposes, for example auto-generation
of the functions to marshal between C and language binding data types.
tools/_libxl_types.h should be identical both before

Progress reporting: N more to check
A recent posting here got me thinking about having the --progress
output tell the user about how many files were left to go in the
transfer. I submit the attached patch which outputs an extra suffix
onto the progress line at the end of each file's transfer (so it
only appears once per file, not on every status update). The output
would look like this:

[PATCH 0/6] Ocfs2-tools: Add a new tool 'o2info'.
Now it's a good time to introduce the new tool 'o2info' since kernel
part of OCFS2_IOC_INFO ioctl has been pulld upstream by linus.
The following 6 patches have already got sunil's SOBs, and now they're
trying to attract more reviewers before it goes to central repo with
a modification of getting manual pages being introduced.

HTB and ARP
Hi,
I discover recently that the arp traffic is managed like any other flow.
So you get hang after a moment if you don''t use a default class.
Is the any means to avoid this ? Not to have a default class is a way to
filter traffic ...
One would be to managed to class ARP request with tc but I don''t know if
it is possible.
Thanks in advance,

Vpopmail and lastauth
Hello, I'm migrating many accounts to a new server with vpopmail 5.4.33
and dovecot 2.0.11.
I've already vpopmail 5.4.32 and dovecot 1.2.16 on others servers
running without problems.
With dovecot 2.0.11 my lastauth file is not updated. This file usually
is update on any access (smtp, pop3, imap) with the client's IP, for
every mailbox. Now it's updated only when a client

fetchmail can't talk to dovecot
Hello,
I have dovecot q1.0-0_22.rc7 up and running on a server: I can read

dovecot.conf I have:

so why should pop3 or imap fail? Where should I look?

a beginner's question for window version of R
Hi,
I just installed R0.64.2 on a Window NT PC. I am wondering how to increase
the memory size like R --vsize --nsize on UNIX, for RGui.exe or Rterm.exe.
Thank you for the help in advance.

Memory usage in read.csv()
I'm sure this has gotten some attention before, but I have two CSV
files generated from vmstat and free that are roughly 6-8 Mb (about
80,000 lines) each. When I try to use read.csv(), R allocates all
available memory (about 4.9 Gb) when loading the files, which is over
300 times the size of the raw data. Here are the scripts used to
generate the CSV files as well as the R code:

Problems seeking with liboggz
Hi,
The Ogg-Speex test file I used is CBR. I am sure of that by running oggz-dump on the file and confirming that all audio packets have 38 bytes; that means (for narrowband) a constant 15 Kbps.
I wrote a very basic test program in Visual Studio 2010 that demonstrates the strange behaviour I mentioned.
The output shows that the audio file has 8 pages, 6 of them
