Problems with Rcmdr unter JGR (Windows XP)
I try to start Rmcdr from JGR. The Rmcdr-Windows comes up correctly; but
the
Menu-Bar in the Rcmdr-Window goes away, if I try to go into the
Rmcdr-Window.
I hope, someone has a solution.
Regards, willi

tcl/tk - Problem unter MacOS X / X11
Hallo !
> library(tcltk)
Loading Tcl/Tk interface ... Error in fun(...) : no display name and no

Question about graphical UI running R version 2.7.0 (2008-04-22) on Ubuntu Hardy Heron...
Hi All:
Tried out a couple of different options suggested earlier, but for some
reason I can only get Rcmdr to work properly. Not that that's a problem,
but it might have been nice to have a couple of other choices.
Just tried out JGR and ended up getting not found errors on several of
the menu choices. Installed OK. Just several key menu options such as
package manager don't work. Have

R 2.12.0 and JGR
Since upgrading to 2.12.0, I'm having trouble getting the JGR to start under Windows 7, but I'm not quite sure what's happening.
When I try to run the JGR.exe stub, the dialog says can't find Java R interface jri.dll. As nearly as I can tell from a Google search this is to be a part of the rJava package which seems to load fine with the library(rJava) command from the Windows R

JGR/Deducer Installation
Hi,
Sorry if this is to wrong mailing list. In that case, please point me
to correct mailing list.
Please also excuse rather long mail - I am not sure what piece of
information would be useful for anybody who could help me.
Couple of days back I had put a query about box-plots using GUI. I
got some excellent suggestions. One of them was to use JGR/Deducer.
It worked quite well for my needs.

[Fwd: Re: Response to R across the university]
Well, I downloaded the install JGR package for Windows and that seemed
to work fine, after the installation I ended up with a modified R window
which looked nice and uncluttered. Which I like. Very much.
On the other hand, I cannot see how to launch the thing again once I
have closed that window. There is supposed to be a launcher somewhere
(JGR.exe?), but I have not been able to find it. It

R editor that will work with Rcmdr
R 2.8.1
Windows XP
Fedora Linux.
I would like a suggestion for an editor that will help format my R code that can be used with Rcmdr. Is there anything I need to know about running or installing an editor when using Rcmdr? I run R on both Windows and Linux (Fedora).
Thank you,

JGR Segmentation fault
I have been trying to get JGR up and running but so far no luck. I installed
R from source using the homebrew package manager and everything works fine
and I was able to install JGR and all its dependencies. Every time I try to
start JGR I get the error below. Any idea why I'm getting the Segmentation
fault? Thanks.

installing java on ubuntu 11.10 installation
Dear list members,
I am starting to get acquainted with linux on a ubuntu 11.10 installation on an external hard disk. I have just installed R and all the packages available in the r-cran-* list. Now, I would like to get on with the installation of packages like Deducer and Acinonyx. The former requires JGR which in turn requires Java. I have tried to follow the instructions available at the

Response to R across the university
This email isn't asking for assistance, but I thought R-help readers
would find it interesting. This week we offered a half-day
introduction to R for researchers at Augsburg University. The
response was astonishing. Although Augsburg has no medical faculty
and no engineers, there was far too much demand, with interest from
every faculty (barring theology, "for one small

productivity tools in R?
Hi all,
Could anybody point me to some latest productivity tools in R? I am
interested in speeding up my R programming and improving my efficiency
in terms of debugging and developing R programs.
I saw my friend has a R Console window which has automatic syntax
reminder when he types in the first a few letters of R command. And
he's using R under MAC. Is that a MAC thing, or I could do the

Object Browser
What's the best object browser?
Dear all,
I have tried all the popular R IDE or editors like Eclipse, Komodo, JGR,
Revolution...
They all have fancy fucntions like auto completion, syntax highlight....
BUT, I JUST WANT A OBJECT BROWSER!
The easiest way to view objects in R console is fix(), but you have no
global view of all the objects in the workspace.
Revolution has the best object
