Only partial installation? Context menu items missing :-(
Hi!
I am very new to Ubuntu and thus also Wine. I installed, uninstalled and re-installed Wine a couple times while trying out Wine and some third-party apps like Wine-Doors.
Now my trouble is... I just installed 1.1.16, but my context menu entry for Wine is missing. Moreover, when I now select "Open with other Application" from the context menu for a Windows app, Wine is not in the

Wine menu items?
Had a previous problem with a program not installing, in Wine, correctly, so I uninstalled Wine, but had to manually delete the Wine menu items in the Gnome 'Applications' menu list. After reinstalling Wine, the menu items did not install again. I can manually add the items to the Gnome 'Applications' menu, but do not know what the true names of the Wine applications that are

Stopping "Open with" menu items from being created by wine
How do I stop "A Wine Application" from being added (sometimes multiple times) to my desktop environment's "Open With" menus? This is very annoying and I never want these items added for any file type. I really do not want to have to remove them after they're created, either. The few file types that I want opened by a wine program, I have added an appropriate menu

How to remove dangling menu items
I tried to test Wine for the first time, installing the only application that I already had an executable for, an old version of Seamonkey web browser. It installed ok, but when uninstalled, through wine, had some issues...first the unistall option did not appear in wine, but fixed that. Finally, when uninstalled Seamonkey, it left a second wine menu item in Gnome Applications menu. I have

Regression in wine 0.9.38? (menu items cut off after 1st word)
In the recent wine 0.9.38 release words in menus are cut off after the
first word (i.e. if you have a menu item called "add directory" all you
see is "add _", the underscore is optional however, no idea on what
condition its appearance depends on, maybe shortcut key.)
Could this possibly be a regression? This bug didn't occur in previous
releases (at least not in 0.9.37) -

Wine 1.1.7 and 1.0.1 not working on Intrepid 64 bit
I posted this on Ubuntuforums but after reading a bit more it seems this is mostly used for gaming questions so I decided to come here.
I am running 64 bit Ubuntu intrepid (still a beta but a release candidate). I can see Wine in my application menu but when I go to Programs/Acessories/Notepad nothing happens. I am unable to open the configuration nor am I able to uninstall using the Applications

Segfault with too many menu items on Rgui
Hi all,
In the CHANGES file for R-2.3.0alpha, there is the following
statement:
winMenuAdd() now has no limits on the number of menus or items, and
names are now limited to 500 (not 50) bytes.
However, I can reproducibly get a segfault using this (admittedly
silly) example:
for( i in 1:5) winMenuAdd(paste("Test", letters[i], sep=""))
for(i in 1:5) for(j in 1:24)

Dynamic Task Bar Menu Items
Am looking for a way to dynamically add menu items to a task bar icon
menu. And then once selected - I would like to get the title of the menu
item. The general idea is to read a text file:
Project1
Project2
Project3
=====
Add those to the task bar menu, and when i select (for example)
Project2, I want to pass the string "Project2" to the code.
Also - Am wondering about how to get

How to fix Wine menu fonts that are too small
I just installed WINE and got it working to some extent, but the menu
and dialog box fonts are too small. See an example at this URL:

After searching winehq.org and Google groups and various other places,
the only remedies that have been suggested have not worked.
One suggestion was to copy the fonts found in such places as

Wine Install and Uninstall Problems
Greetings all.
I have been running Wine under Kubuntu Feisty for about the last four months,
keeping it updated with the latest wine releases on a weekly basis, I use it
to run WordPerfect.
Whilst WordPerfect didn't run flawlessly, I got it to work well enough to edit
and save documents I work on at home. In four months none of the updates to
Wine changed anything in how WordPerfect

Kununtu Menu Problem With Wine
Very new to Linux so please be gentle. Running Kubuntu 8.04 (Gutsy).
Installed Wine and a couple of Windows apps. Couldn't get them to work so uninstalled apps (through Wine) then uninstalled Wine.
Found that the Wine entries were still visible in the K Menu so I deleted them (not sure how). I think I found them somewhere using the file manager (Dolphin) and deleted them there.
Now I have

The problem comes now:
I've reinstalled Wine, and now that I dont see icon of Wine in the Applications menu. Then I went to the menu editor and I have to Revert button, but nothing ...
Wine is "fine" because I've installed some applications on it.
