Cox proportional hazards confidence intervals
I am calculating cox propotional hazards models with the coxph
function from the survival package. My data relates to failure of
various types of endovascular interventions. I can successfully
obtain the LR, Wald, and Score test p-values from the coxph.object, as
well as the hazard ratio as follows:
formula.obj = Surv(days, status) ~ type
coxph.model = coxph(formula.obj, df)

static box sizing problems
Hi,
I tried this one over on the main wx-users list as well, but thought I would
try it here since I am using wxRuby:
I am using wxWidgets 2.8.7 on a linux box using the GTK build.
I have pared down my issue to the simplest case: I am trying to use a
horizontal BoxSizer to split a frame into two sections: a left and right
side. I want the left side to stretch proportionally and I want the

R-RApache to develop Knowledge Base
Hi all,
I need your opinion about using R-Rapache to build a knowlegde base to
bioinformatics field.
I have copious amount of genotype information (some few million records)
and would like to store it in MySQL database. Then, using RMySQL connector
I would like to use it for further analysis using R over a web interface.
The web interface which I am thnking off, just does not serve the purose of

[PATCH] xsm/flask: fix resource list range checks
The FLASK security checks for resource ranges were not implemented
correctly - only the permissions on the endpoints of a range were
checked, instead of all items contained in the range. This would allow
certain resources (I/O ports, I/O memory) to be used by domains in
contravention to security policy.
This also corrects a bug where adding overlapping resource ranges did
not trigger an error.

Merging data frames on two conditions
Hi Guys
I have two data frames which I would like to merge on two conditions.
I am doing the following (abstract form)
new.data.frame <- merge(df1,df2, by=c("Col1","Col2"))
It is giving me a null result.
Basically I need to apply two conditions.
I also tried sqldf but it is running forever. Will indexing help ?

smbpasswd (adding machines?) with pdb_mysql doesn't work
Hiya.
Still having fun with his mysql module - it appears to read from the
mysql database fine, but I can't seem to add machine accounts (and I
can't get too far unless I do this).
It might also be my own stupidity too - let me know ;-)
I've got a machine called "bbmachine" - without pdb_mysql, I can join
the domain no problems. However, I need to rejoin the

How to get R plots with FastRweb
Dear friends,
I am working in a web service project which uses integration of Java with R.
I have used RJava to connect with Java and that is working fine. As R
produces more interactive plots, I would also like to pipe plots generate
from R on web page. I came to know that FastRWeb, R2HTML, brew and
WebGraphics, Cairo together can be used to do that. I have installed all
those successfully. I am

[PATCH 00/10] FLASK updates: MSI interrupts, cleanups
This patch set adds XSM security labels to useful debugging output
locations, and fixes some assumptions that all interrupts behaved like
GSI interrupts (which had useful non-dynamic IDs). It also cleans up the
policy build process and adds an example of how to use the user field in
the security context.
Debug output:

[PATCH RFC] s390/virtio-ccw: Adapter interrupt support.
Handle the new CCW_CMD_SET_IND_ADAPTER command enabling adapter interrupts
on guest request. When active, host->guest notifications will be handled
via global_indicator -> queue indicators instead of queue indicators +
subchannel I/O interrupt. Indicators for virtqueues may be present at an
offset.

how to draw stacked ellipses to illustrate the shared and specific of multiple objects using R
Dear R-help listers,
I am now asking for helps on how to draw stacked ellipses to
illustrate the shared and specific of multiple objects using R.
My problem comes from my population genetics study. Now, I genotyped
three species, and I get known about the amount of shared and specific
haplotypes in each of the species and their combinations. I want to
illustrate this result in three stack
