Change current plot window size. Or - saving/loading current device plotting history
Hello dear R-help members, Very soon I am to give a lecture on R. And in that lecture I intend to move between: par(mfrow = c(1,1)) to par(mfrow = c(1,2)) back and forth. I anticipate this will damage the image proportions and will force me to resize the window. So far I have found it is possible to close the window and then reopen it (bigger/smaller) by using: dev.off()dev.new(width=5,

save history only option under Linux
Hi, I have a question regarding the R command options under Linux Is there any options that I can save history only? The only save option is --save, which saves both data and history. I don't want to save temporary data, because sometimes the it takes much time if the temp data is too big. However I want to restore the history for my next R session.. If there is no such option that meets my

Graphics device history recording problem (Previous and Next utilities)
I use 1.7.0 version under Windows XP. Problem: When graphics device history recording function turned on, suppose I source a file containing lines: plot(graph1) plot(graph2) I see the graph2 in the graphic device, assuming graph2 is the last plot in the file. Now using "Previous" under history menu, I get graph1 as expected. But after that, using "Next" does not show graph2.

R process must die - can I save history?
I connected from my desktop Linux box to a Linux server using ssh in an xterm, but that xterm was running in Xvnc. I'm running R on the server in that xterm (over ssh). Something went wrong with Xvnc that has caused it to hang, probably this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vnc4/+bug/819473 So I can't get back to that ssh session or to R. I had done a bunch of work

ESS (emacs speaks statistics) saving history
hi folks, i use ESS mode in emacs often to interact with R, and while i know how to save a session transcript, i'm wondering how to save just the history of the commands (i.e. identically to how R gives the history save option from its native CLI). if you use ESS with an R process, commands entered from a separate buffer and sent to the process do not get registered with the R history, and

R for MacOSX - History and command line problems
Hi! I have the following issues using "R for Mac OS X 2.2.1" (from the ppc-.dmg) on a Mac OS X 10.4.5: 1) The command history is never saved (automatically) to .Rhistory. (The file stays empty.) 2) If I save a history to some file via the "Save History" button, and I load it afterwards via "Load History", only the first entry of the saved History appears in

[PATCH 2/2] com32: Fix a bug on history of commands.
Previously, even non-length commands were added to history, but it shoudn't, e.g: just typing enter. For example, if you type: FOO -> (ENTER) -> (ENTER), then to get FOO from the history you would have to press the UP key twice. It also saves a bit of memory. Activating Graphics History
I'm having trouble finding documentation on how to activate the "record graphics history" option via a command line (as opposed to having to use the menu). I would like to store a series of graphics. The readme says: `The History menu allows the recording of plots. When plots have been recorded they can be reviewed by PgUp and PgDn, saved and replaced. Recording can be turned

"Graphics history" in UNIX
Hello. First post, please excuse lack of experience. I recently switched from MS-Win to Kubuntu and find it rather difficult to recover Cran-R ease of use. The "Graphics history" facility available under Windows was, for me, extremely useful. From Murrell's 2005 book (see citation below) I understand that no such facility is available under non-Windows systems. In R-help

Managing SIP hardphones call history
Hi, I've been asked sometimes to tailor call history features embeded in SIP hardphones. For example, a cutomer wanted internal call to be taken out. Another wanted calls to sorted according specific criteria. 1. Have you identified a phone offering the possibility to display as Call History, an XML list produced on a distant web server ? With this feature, you would simply have to tell the

R loosing history
Hello, Im running R 1.8.1 on Win2000 and frequently using the function history() to keep track of what I did in my R session. In a recent session I typed history(max=Inf) and to my surprise there were only 15 lines of code where there should have been approx. 300 lines and I lost a lot of valuable work. Do you have any idea what caused this behaviour? help(history) didn't make me any
