Group Mappings
Samba 3.6.2
My Domain Admins, including root, don't get admin permissions on local PCs.
My Windows 7 clients can join the domain but when I look in the
Administrators group it shows the sid for the Domain Admins group (RID =
512) and the icon has a question mark
net groupmap list seems OK
Any ideas where to look next?
TIA

Debian asterisk-bristuff
I apologise now if I have managed to completely misunderstand this whole
subject!
I've built a small PC and loaded Etch 4.0 from the netinst cd.
I did 'apt-get install asterisk-bristuff' which seemed to work
but, it doesn't seem to have installed any files/modules for zaptel?

I am using a billion hfc card
Any pointers?

UK Samba Consultant Required
Hi All,
I would like to migrate a 10 user NT4 Domain to a new Samba server.
I have had a practice run but am struggling to make the (mostly) XP
machines login to the new server without creating a new profile. I am
sure that I migrated the SID but obviously I didn't get something right!
Are there any consultants out there who might be able to help me through
this process and teach me a

It doesn't seem to work from the XP Join Domain Dialogue
I have added an account with adduser
But

Compiling R on Sunos
I'm looking for some help in getting R to compile on Sunos. We run a
collection of Sunos and Solaris machines in the department here. I got
to compile on Solaris 2.5.1 using gcc 2.7.2.2. On my Sunos 4.1.3 (and
I've tried it on Sunos 4.1.4 as well) machines, it crashes during the
compile. I'm using gcc 2.8.1 on there. It gets to this point:
gcc -g -O2 -I../include

Remote share
Hi
I have got Samba 3.0.20 installed on two AIX servers, one running 5.2
and one running 5.3. I only get a core dump when manipulating users on
the 5.3 machine ? The code install is actually an exact copy that I
tarred up and transferred over. I actually seem to get a lot of errors
on the 5.3 server that I don't on the 5.2. Any ideas ?
My other, and main problem, is setting up a remote open

Functional test and flash with an error
I''m getting this error thats moaning about expected tag, but no tag
found matching {:content=>"User James Apps was successfully created.",
:attributes=>{:id=>"notice"}, :tag=>"div"} in the file application.rb.
I tried using a regular expression - /#{user.first_name}/ , but that
wouldn''t work either

CentOS 7 debuginfo repo
Hi
I've just been looking for the debuginfo packages for CentOS 7 (I'm using
systap in an attempt to judge the performance of some new tape drives), but
upon enabling the debug repo, I just get a 404 looking for the repo's
metadata. Any clues on where I might be able to get these packages?
Thanks

Preexec on Profiles
I'm trying to get a preexec line to work on Profiles when a windows XP
system logs in. The line and script are the same as we used to use on the
"homes" share with WIndows 98 clients on samba 2. However I cannot seem to
make the preexec line trigger either on login or by explicitly mounting the
share.
Here's the bit from my smb.conf

Profiles and PDC
We have severla samba servers which we've just tried to upgrade to using the
domain based security.
Most things seem to be fine but there is one problem which is causing some
trouble.
Roaming profiles are decalred on the PDC to be:
logon path = \\ufs.%G\%U\Profiles
which resolves to a folder called Profiles in the users home directory.
The server ufs.%G is not the same server as

Samba 3.0.8 breaks all printing from Windows 98
We have small panic here as we've just put samba 3.0.8 up to fix the DoS
attack but all printing from Windows 98 has now broken. Printing from
Windows XP is still working fine.
We're running on Fedora 2 using LPRng. Everything was working fine under
3.0.7 and no changes to the OS or the config files was made. Samba was
upgraded to 3.0.8 using the configure line from the 3.0.7

Assertion failed
We're in a bit of a panic here as we're getting a lot of errors along
the lines of:
May 2 12:39:00 lenny dovecot: IMAP(XXXXX): file mbox-sync-rewrite.c:
line 106 (mbox_sync_headers_add_space): assertion failed: (start_pos <
data_size)
We didn't see this until our mail servers went under a full load and now
we've trashed the ability of nearly all our users to read email.

PATCH: Performance improvement for parameterised include path names
I posted last week regarding a bug in the way that smb was re-reading
our config files every 60 seconds even though the files were not
changing.
As a result we had 396 smbd processes trying to read three files at the
same moment with the obvious load average.
The reason that all the smbd's were running at the same moment is
because the smbd's read the config files every 60 seconds

Directory config...
Hi all,
How do I config Asterisk so when the directory cmd is used, the name of
the found entry comes from a pre-record gsm file instead of being spelled
letter by letter?

Hi List,
I've done a little bit of SaMBa in the past, but new to LDAP, so bear

[LLVMdev] 3.6.2-rc1 has been tagged. Testers needed.
clang+llvm-3.6.2-rc1-mipsel-linux-gnu.tar.xz
The second test run finally finished (the machine lacks an FPU). All good.
